the biggest problem is when you give someone a shot/put in a good word you put your reputation on the line for them, so unless you know that person well you just don't bother.
trucks etc.
Just got my HR licence and looking for something away

HWE are looking for people, probably experienced but it's worth a crack. They are part of the Leighton group with a few sites.

Rhys, did you speak to Jacky regarding driving courses at RMS. They offer courses for dump truck drivers. The problem with that though is although you will get a licence to drive one not many companies are prepared to offer employment to "greenhorns". 5 years ago mining companies would snap up anyone who could walk, talk, read and write but things have changed since then.
There are a few people here who work in the recruitment game, talk to them they might help. Dufus got Jacky a job at a mine and there's no looking back now!

RMS are good for fuck all. They will take your $$$$ and give you a piece of paper not worth wiping your ass with. UNLESS you have a close mate with some pull at a site and even then, these days everything has to go through HR, some sites even supervisors can't get their best mates cousin's brother's son/daughter a job as a dog flogger. At others, everyone has a family member or friend that works there. Go figure......
yeh i did speak to jacky about the RMS coarse and pretty much told me im better off setting my money on fire as it was useless. And was told this by a few other ppl aswell. Even their driving lessons for HR were stupidly priced.

Boddington Gold Mine are generally looking for truckies (pretty crappy site for truck driving) but they have a sim etc so they are a dedicated training site for dumpies.
All their hiring goes through Intergrated http://www.integrated.com.au/web/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=62&Itemid=65 so might be worth a go.
As i said, not a great place to work as such and the coin isnt all that good but a 1on 1off DIDO roster is good to get your foot in the door

Not sure what you mean as a 'licence' but its part of a training program that deems you competent. Newmont is a RTO, and is in the middle of completing a RTO approval of its training materials / program so they will be able to issue UoC (Units of competency) when they pull their finger out of their ass.
We need some decent truckies there tho.......too many Coles Nightfill pingpingpingpings driving around going through stopsigns and shit...alot of close calls for our drillers :(
