when you remove the fuse on the 4WD system on a gtr, to engage rear wheels only (warm up tyres), does this have any potential to cause any damage to the computer or other components?

there's a couple of gtr's (Reece McGregor NZ) that have a full on switchable hydraulic system to do the same thing, it seems overkill though, if it's as simple as pulling a fuse out.

My brother has a switch on his GTS4, I think he tapped into the a fuse under the dash, rather than the one in the engine bay
Makes it easier than pulling the fuse out everytime you want it rwd, or having the 4wd re-engage everytime your car stops if you don't bother with the fuse method

No damage on R32's though

Gun 32,

Reece's system is not to set it in rwd, its to control the 4wd better.

Gun 32,

are you sure? Ive seen some in car footage of the car (HPI V7), and I could have sworn it had a purpose-built system for doing this? Could b wrong though :)

Very sure.

Basically the atessa system doesn't go full 4wd until the car is moving and the wheels spinning.

By pumping up the transfer case(his leaver) he has 100 % 4wd 50/50 lock on the line.

i just fitted a switch to mine on monday, easy as just cut the fat wire going to the back of the fuse and put a switch in between which will breakthe connection when flicked. When you flick it hello rwd !
However when you flick it back the car wont engage 4wd again until you stop (same thing happens when you turn the key off/on when rolling)
thing sure does bake in rwd

top left had fuse, in the fuse box under dash, wire up a switch to it, with a fuse. and there ya go.

note, it works on the same princibles are turning your key on and off. once you are in rwd you DO NOT HAVE ABS, just beware of this. also the 4wd is activated once you come to a complete stop.

There are better ways of doing this as to not lose the ABS system once in rear wheel drive.

Disabling your rear 4wd pump that sits in your cradle is one.

Not an answer from the Scat man but i am a simon non the less.

putting more relays in, and particular location will let you keep abs, esentially you just want to cut power to the 4wd pump unit.

Use an ATTESSA controller. As cheap as $350 from Duncan on SAU.

Just flick a switch and do a burnout.
