Hey everyone, I have decided with looking at getting a house - getting another vehicle would be pointless as the one I want is financially out of reach - however I still have an XA in the garage that needs to be restored.
I am looking for the below:
2005 onwards Ford Falcon XR6T utility wreckage. Must be complete - just as it was crashed with engine, gearbox, diff, brakes, suspension etc. salvageable, preferably t-boned or rear ended.
Needs to be manual!
Do not want a BA series Falcon. Needs to be the next one (BF I think? onwards!) - heard the BAs have heaps of issues - do not want issues. lol
I will be using this for my XA.
If you hear anyone selling a wreck - or have just written one off and have the opportunity to buy it back - please let me know.

Been told the utes have a "solid" axle - hence the preference for a ute. But if the Sedan's have one too - will look at it!
So let me know - Sedan or Ute regardless if any are going around! :D
only wagons & uterus's have live axle

Should have done my research!!
F6 Wreckage (SEDAN) would be absolute joy. BF model or above only please. Not interested in BA model. Anyone seen/have?
Cheers. :)
dont mean to fuck with your plans, but shouldnt you sort the body/chassis out on the xa first or are you going for the sleeper/gheto look?

BF's had the BA F6 internals, thats your reason for the BF preference? Then the BA F6 will still be worth looking at.
So you want a sedan now? Do you plan on somehow converting to IRS?

He probably means F6 ute...
Give Walliston wreckers (Kalamunda) a call. They always wreck these things & may be able to sort you out with the gear at a good price.
I know this will sound crazy, but hear me out.
You want to sell an inline turbo 6 and 6 speed.. to buy a inline turbo 6 and 6 speed...
2j it.

TJ - I did want to 2J it - but Dad wants the Supra stuff gone and wants to keep it all Ford - as it is a joint project - and he is getting on with age - I want to at least complete something with him... so it has to be Ford gear. :) I will see if I can coerce him into the idea once more, but generally he just gets pissy and tells me to fuck off and just get rid of the thing so will see how it goes. :p

Sedan or Ute doesn't matter - I know the Sedan has IRS but if IRS won't be possible in the XA, I will look for Leaf Springs later on... I would rather do it once, and do it right so would love a sleeper look however I am in the process of doing the sanding/priming myself at the moment as Dad and I will do the bodywork ourselves - otherwise pointless project cos I don't want to just pay a shop to do everything. Sedan would also be beneficial as if the Back Seat fits without too much hassle/pissing around - BONUS. LOL
F6 came in leather trim yeah?

Ghetto look won't work on the car... Though the car drives, I doubt a cop would not pull over and sticker a vehicle that is half sanded on one side and is missing bits/pieces and is losing rust everywhere...lol seeing as I would rather NOT get pulled over - I don't want to risk it. :p

Will give them a call when I am back in Perth. :)
Would prefer a complete car (bonuses of all parts being available include mating them somehow in the XA) and ute/sedan don't matter. :)
how much do you expect to pick up a complete wreck for? And yes F6's came with leather

Don't know yet, don't know what they have gone for/what they go for, so browsing at the moment. What do they roughly go for? I will have to jump onto the ford forums or something and see if anything similar has sold.
Forgot to answer a question above - as I want to use everything (engine, loom, ecu, gearbox, diff, suspension etc.) I have been told to steer clear of BA's due to issue they have had with Diff and Gearbox?
I'd expect an F6 sedan to go for $10k+ thats a complete write off. The seats, dash, engine, gearbox, instruments, gear knobs/ steering wheel, rims and any left over body bits and brakes are all sought after upgrade parts for the BA+ falcon community

you are wanting the 6spd manual correct? (stock clutch is AP Racing twin plate)
BAs have the 5spd manual and 4spd auto = both poo
the BAs had shitty valve springs and rods.
but if you arent pushing the motor, valve springs, oil pump gears and head studs is good motor insurance.

Cool, not a bad price, depends on the damage as always, as most of the gear will be going into the XA, not a bad deal either. :)
I would love the 6 Speed Manual. :)
Not touchy BA. Wanna touchy BF only. :)

not in the F6's
I'm with TJ.. put the fucking 2JZ in it!

sounds like its going to be a massive project, the mind boggles at what you're attempting to do.
as a small issue, are you going to keep the factory 20:1 steering box, find a gt box or attempt something decent like doing a rack & peanut steering conversion?
maybe start a build thread so you can post some pics up of the xa.
good luck :)

This might be a bit out there.... but surely you would look to pick up a 9"diff from the quokka.. since lots of XA's had 9" diffs standard. much stronger than the Falcon diff, and since you will need to get the falcon diff modified to fit the XA, and then make a custom tailshaft to suit. would also open up options towards the sedans as well.
lots of xa's had 9" diffs??? i dont think so, was only gt's as far as i can remember - detroit locker was an option on them tho

I thought it was GT's too, there is/was a GT XA on carsales going for 20k apparently all original and just needed some TLC but could have been a fakey for that price - would have been a good buy but don't have 20k lying around plus the extra for the TLC.

Will be considered when the time comes - if I can get a complete wreck and keep the engine, gearbox, wiring, suspension and etc. it would already be proving worthwhile, the diff etc. can be sorted out later, again, do it once, do it right. :)

It will def be a decent project. Dad and I are going halves in and well, about time, car has been sitting there for a couple years now still with rego though.
If I were to buy another Supra, it wouldn't move for another couple years, and with the option of buying a house soon, it seems like something that can be completed over a set time period without too much hassle. :)
Everything will be decent, I want power steering, don't care for power windows, but basically if I can transplant as much as possible from an F6 - bonus. I know it means work, and mucking around, but again, do it once, do it right. I want a comfy cruiser, something modern (much like the SMC stuff from America).
And Dad is same as me - no concern for costing as long as it is reasonable and done the right way from the start - no shortcuts. I would rather spend the extra first up, get it done, then have to fork out later - too much fucking around. :)
Will make a thread when I get around to taking some more photos, and doing some more work on it. :)

2JZ into XA
/thread
I'm trying Joe, I am trying!!! Unfortunately stubborn old men are not easy to deal with!!
But it would be ideal - and something I would love to do.

You will need to look more than local for a wreck in them specs, look at pickels over east..

Yes, been checking pickles and manheimfowles - Dad is looking to take off 2 months from work so hoping in that time we can get as much sorted as possible when this happens. Not concerned too much with the time it takes to acquire an F6 so just browsing around now and checking out the options. :)
When I fly home, I spend 2 of the 3.5 days I have off working on the XA now anyway, so I am hoping if I can get the rest of the car sanded before I fly off again next time I am home - it will speed up the progress of sorting out and doing the panel work that is needed. Once the Supra Wreck goes too, its a bonus because I can start stripping the Ford properly. :)
