Fuel Hoses and PSi - what are the alternatives?

hi guys,

I changed the radiator recently in my supercharged CRX, and this afternoon refilled the system, warmed the car up to bleed it and noticed that one of the hoses around the fuel pressure regulator is seeping fuel - OHH NO!

Now it used to run around 40PSI which is normal pressure for NA, but since i've had the supercharger fitted its been upped to 50psi by the tuner. He did notice it was seeping a bit and retightened the clamps which stopped the seeping for the first dyno tune. Now the leak is back again.

is it possible to run 50psi on a decent set of rubber hoses and clamps or will i keep running into situations where its going to be dodgy or is 50psi too much to start off with?

what brand are the hoses? what kind of clamps are you using? zip ties?

if the hoses are vacuum hoses they might not be ideal for high pressures, maybe invest in some thicker hose?

its fuel hose and a normal clamp - screw type. Im guessing maybe the hose is slightly old now or the clamp doesn't work well.

without checking, i'm 99% sure my factory fuel hoses are rated to ~150 psi.
it's definately over 100 anyway!
i'd be checking/replacing your clamps and deteriorated hoses.

just replace the hose if your not too sure what it's rated for.

however make sure its EFI hose not just normal fuel hose, Make sure to check the writting on the hose for what pressure rating it's for as some shops dont sell efi hose.

my dad got some hose from coventries once and it turned out that it wasnt efi hose, so when it was running 70psi through it, it blew apart. Not good on a hot turbo.

EFI hose is what you want. I had similar problem to Tre-cool, put Non-EFI hose on and started the car and fuel hose burst in my face spraying petrol in my eyes n shit. Wasnt cool. Shit is expensive but you'll need it.
