get ur self a front cut from a jap wrecker, and the rest will be smooth sailing, only minor modification needed to mounts and g'box. Use a reputable garage to perform the transplant (ie, someone whose done it several times). Good Luck

I'm planning a SR20DET conversion myself to my CA.
basically a front cut would be nice, but realistically, u just need motor, ecu, wiring loom, and bellhousing from the SR.
The gearboxs are almost identical, so you only have to change the bellhousing to the SR.

It's a cheaper and probably better proposition to put an RB20 in it. At least when you break one of them, they are cheap and available.

why would you want to do away with the CA in the first place??? hehe. CA's are the way to go!!
the wiring loom is slightly diffrent so make sure you splice the conectors at the passengers headlight corectly

CA's are a far better motor. infact very simiar to the RB's
With a CA, in reverse gear you dont hear a beeep...beeep...beeep like you do when your reversing in your SR equipped vehicle.

radiator hoses dont lineup either so u need the SR20 radiator

Guys, this is a tired issue.
Give me some PROOF that one is better than the other!
The CA shits on the SR. The only thing it's lacking is sheer capacity. It doesnt break rocker arms either!
There are some serious CA's out there. It's a shame that they were killed off before the aftermarket scene as we know it took off.

Care to post some valid reasons that support your statement?
Ahhh its times like these I'm glad I didnt buy an S15 ;)
My S13 Silvia K's CA18DET used to beep in reverse as well. Was even better when i'd rev the crap out of it in neutral, pop it into 1st and light up the bags (auto's suck).

Jme, I think ya missed the joke ;)
Nah you drive a Subaru...you really dont need to be "in" with all the Nissan jokes.
The only reason I am is cos all my mates drive Nissan bunkys :D

Howdy...
dont mean to hijack the thread, but i have a RB20DE sitting on the floor of my shed if u wanna do a real conversion... $500 with computer and turbo manifold, standard exhaust manifold and bellhousing to suit sr 5 spd... ran out of money to convert mine
Bung in a set of low comp. forgies and a decent aftermarket computer and u got yourself a winner :)
