I know this is in Queensland - but far out. Talk about going after everything!

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/1070338/swearers-face-instant-100-fines

I wouldn't have thought something like this would be possible? I mean, I don't see "swear words" as swear words, I just see them as common language. The stigma isn't there for me on words like fuck. Seriously, how can this be considered a swear word in this day and age?

Swearing has it's time and place and should not be used not as an everday word. Along with the fine, a bar of soap should also be used.

Does that mean we need a fund to send you to Queensland too?

What will your plan be? Must be a good plan to be considered...lol

I don't see what the problem is... These words have such value to everyday life. Take pingpingpingping for example. Its such a versatile word, that can be used in many applications and most definitely get the point across.

Examples...

"Hey pingpingpingping, you forgot my sauce for my fucking sausage roll"
"Oh, sorry Sir, it wont happen again"
Easy as that, no-one got offended, you were just getting the msg across in a lively manner!

The scene... You're warehouse guy, just dropped half a pallet of Slides. Cost - 5k mark, Sale Price - 12-14k

"Hey, you little pingpingpingping, if you weren't operating that forklift like you just stole the funking thing, you wouldn't have just lost me 7k in profit! Now, you pingpingpingping, pick up every little fucking peace of glass with your finger and don't even touch that broom!"
Guy comes in next day with resignation. By dropping the C-Bomb with some authority behind it, you managed to sack someone minus the sacking :)

Two examples of everyday life and dropping the C-Bomb when needed.

revenue raising. you'll get done for swearing, $100, get angry and swear more, end up walking away with a $600 fine.

I actually think the law is more aimed at people causing a public nuisance (which requires a court appearance). ie, drunk fucktards yelling and screaming at the top of their lungs. I don't think your average joe-blow is going to get done for dropping a F-bomb when he stubs his toe.

I wonder if you can use old swear words and put a twist on them, and then argue that it just happens to have that sequence of letters in it's spelling, ie:

pingpingpingpinglips
pingpingpingpingfeatures
pingpingpingpingface

This happened in school to me alot..

- Fuck sake
- Excuse me go wait outside
-walk out just before I closed the door "This class is fucked"

usually made things worse

LOL I lost count of the amount of times I got kicked out of class in year 12. Religion was my favourite - kicked out of almost every class that year due to arguing with the teacher all the time about the existance of "god." eventually she couldn't take it and it was a straight "your outside today, here is your work"

Swearing was a problem in year 7 - "the red file" listed all students violations for swearing. get booked enough...and trouble.

some of the teachers were fine though with swearing. tafe is awesome too - two of the lecturers have a favourite saying of "this doesn't work, it's fucked, you get me?"
