Hey guys, this is my car. Just throwing it up for shits and gigs.

Engine: QR25DE(T) 2.5L, turbocharged, intercooled, coil on plug, MAP sensored, inline 4cyl.

Exhaust: 2.5" dump, 3.5" high flow cat, 3" cat-back, single muffler

Suspension: Hotbits 2-way adjustable coilovers

Wheels: Stock painted black, soon to be axis SuperHiro 19" x 9 in black

Modifications: Custom manifold and exhaust, GT2860rs @ 10psi, 200x600x75 FMIC and 2.5" plumbing, WRX 440cc injectors, EMS stinger ECU tuned by Andrew @ Hyperdrive, SR throttle body, braided water and oil lines, block tapped for oil drain, GFB Hybrid BOV plumbed-back, Sub and amp, Coilovers, Bit of a stereo, HD clutch and lightweight fly, oil pressure, water temp and boost gauges.

Stereo Audio / Visual: Stock 6 stacker, coustic amp and pioneer 12" sub.

Estimated Power: 255 all wheel hp @ 10psi - 95% increase on stock power. Mid 13 1/4 mile, 0-100 ~6 sec.

Hey guys, after about 12 months of work here's my almost finished X-Trail - just waiting on my wheels then I'd call it done. I built it as a street car in the same vane as a Stagea, Legnum, Galant, Forester etc, but I'd like to think it's more sleeper. So basically its a 1390kg, AWD turbo wagon that puts out 190 all wheel KW and about 390Nm of torque. It started off with a VG30 turbo on 10psi that made 202awhp, then it blew on me and since then I upgraded to a Garrett. Gained about 50hp from the same boost pressure!

Also has leather interior, climate control, sunroof and variable torque split as standard.

that's pretty cool!
personally i'd paint the cooler black/put some mesh in front of it just to hide it though.

you didnt happen to be on the ozvr4 forums did you? i vaguely remember someone building a turbo x-trail on another forum i used to frequent.

In response to why, I dunno exactly...

I fell in love with it, its such a nice car to drive, its practical, and always thought it was a decent allrounder. Just thought it would be different. As you can see I'm a fan of doing things differently :)

nice work, I enjoy seeing builds of QR's in the states.
What year is it? I think the later models got a lot beefier bottom ends...

Wouldnt have been cheaper buying a SR20VET halfcut?

very diff indeedy! xtrails are a nice bit of gear (was drivin one for a few days last week) would be a helluva lot different with a turbo strapped to it!

have you put it down the 1/4 yet?** edit never mind, just reread it oops!

Ohh dude that is ballin!! My folks got one, they got heaps of torque down low normally and are pretty quick to accelerate standard. This would be awesome to cruise around in and get some funny looks at the lights.

Something different , can appreciate it that's for sure. Well done.

Well done definatly a sleeper! But as said above I also would put some mesh at the front of the bar. IMO it would give it a tab better finish :)

15-06-2010, 07:51 PM
WOW! That is fucking cool :D
As Mitchy said though, I'd paint the cooler black and get some mesh to make it look stock to the untrained eye! Must serve up some serious chop to unsuspecting drivers! haha. Love it.

Wouldnt have been cheaper buying a SR20VET halfcut?

Yeah maybe... They are pretty hard to find and SR20VETs never came with a manual strapped to it. i.e. theres no manual gearbox that bolts up to 4wd system apart from the YD22 diesel, QR25, or SR20VET CVT auto (gay!)
I consider it more and more each day though, cos a GTi-R manual bolts up with a few modifications to the rear drive system. just a case of finding someone whos dealt with these cars before (very hard!)

nice work, I enjoy seeing builds of QR's in the states.
What year is it? I think the later models got a lot beefier bottom ends..

The later model US B16 Sentras have the beefier rods and pistons since those QRs make 150kw and have 10.5 comp. ratio. But the Aus QRs in the T31 x-trails don't get the same treatment I'm pretty sure... I'd be looking at getting some of those rods from the US for an engine build though! Way cheaper than getting aftermarket ones!

Thanks for the positive comments guys!

Must serve up some serious chop to unsuspecting drivers! haha. Love it.

Last year in September when I'd just bought my car I was on my way home dropping someone off from the airport. I was in the left lane at a set of lights on Leach and a black xtrail pulled up next to me. I thought nothing of it until it launched hard. I tried to catch up and failed miserably (no traction, rear flicked out to the left, looked like an absolute goose to the cars beind us) - in short I was chopped hard.

I tell this cool story now because I rather suspect you had something to do with it :)

Just wow...holy shit bro, it will make me think twice seeing a black xtrail on road. Would chop pingpingpingpings off....any thoughts of forging internals and slapping on gt35r??

Yeah i'll throw the 'paint the cooler' comment in too.. Don't bother with mesh over it, but definitely paint it black.
