And they expect the road toll to go down.
Its almost like they want the roads to become brain numbingly slow

"It will allow for a more flexible approach to policing speeding drivers.''
Flexible = lucrative.
Gotta spend money to make money, right?

First thing I saw was the WSPA animal-cruelty:
"DISEASE. ABUSE. NEGLECT. LIFE CAN BE TOUGH ON THE STREETS".
And I thought, yeah, cops are pingpingpingpings alright... owait this is about animals k

Just another road tax, and like any tax you just need the right way around it :)
i don't understand why the government can't just put fixed speed cameras in notorious black spots. i'm all for speed cameras, if they are clearly visible with signs telling drivers they are there.
it does exactly what they are trying to achieve, slow drivers down in areas that are renowned for speed related fatalities. random multi-novas are a clear add on tax.
You are only technically speeding if you exceed the posted speed limit. Regardless whether the posted speed limit is appropriate for the area is another matter. Things will only get worse.
Leach Highway used to be 80km/h, its perfectly safe to do speeds of up to 80 or even 90 on there, but noooo its no 70. So doing 80 is "speeding" fucking wankers!

exactly! Most of us have been interstate. I've seen roads that are like canning highway and leach highway and they are 80 kays. Traffic flows so much better and less accidents, therefore less frustration from drivers and less speeding.

Take a look at the northern end of Alexander Drive - wide dual lane road, excellent visibility, 70kph limit (not to mention cops there every day with a handheld).
Meanwhile, at the end of Alexander Drive is Gnangara Road. A rough, narrow road with solid steel/cement power poles close to the road, not to mention very busy and full of trucks, single lane - 90kph.
Seriously, who ever decided on the speed limits of these two roads needs their head checked. I am actually surprised the limit has not been dropped on Gnangara Road let alone widened and/or upgraded to a dual carriageway. I visit a client usually once a month who is situated along that road, a few kms before Ellenbrook. I shit myself every time I have to turn right into their driveway, even when you indicate your intention to turn 100-150m prior, people tailgate you, then as you come to a near stop, they realise they cannot pass, you glance in your mirror to see 2 tonnes of 4WD nose diving behind you.
