Gday,

Can anyone recommend a mobile service for pre-purchase vehicle inspections. I want something that does a bit more of a mechanical check than RAC, ie compression check, gets under car and fully checks it out (similiar to what can be done on a hoist).

I am trying to organise C-Red to do it, but they may not be able to do it when the seller is available to take it.

cheers,

They are all going to be during the week, business hours though. When the guy is working. Want a workshop close to him. What other workshops are in the Welshpool area that would be open on a Saturday?

I used these guys for an inspection on my car, and was happy with what they covered

They do an underbody inspection, but obviously doesnt go up on a hoist.

I always thought RAC puts the car on a hoist, Ever since they stopped doing mobile (outsourced) inspections and they started doing there there own inspections at the RAC service centres.

When my car was sold the interested owner had booked it in to RAC (I had to take it down), and saw them checking it out while it was under hoist. They even removed wheels and checked brakes/brake lines/suspension etc.

Would suggest you do keep an eye on them, and if they do take it for a drive ask if you may go along with them.

Ask for current roadworthy certificate if in VIC
Or RACV is VIC equivelant.

I'd rather my own inspection than a roadworthy... They have a long history of being easily obtained for cash

QLD roadworthy system is corrupt as fuck, my original 32 was passed with - engine numbers didnt match rego (does now for Kal reading this), brakes hardly worked suspension was fucked out.

Just going to get RACV to do it. Hopefully should get it done at the start of next week depending on the guys roster.

Are you going to go see the car?
I would highly recommend it after the GTR's I looked at in Victoria....

Get a compression & leak down test just to be sure

Mate of mine just did this when looking to buy an Evo over east and lucky he did do it... if not he would be buying a lemon

I don't have time to go and see it because I'm on a 4 and 1 roster. I was planning on sending my old man over to have a look for me but he doesn't get back from work until the end of the month now. Was just going to get the inspection done and take it from there. PM sent.
