Looks like i'm heading over to the Winters with the PDA crew.

im heading over to have a look this year... heading up to darwin tomorrow for the sprint car titles. should be a good time over there

would love to be over there as their are quite a few sport compact racers entered into group 2 and around 8 profx cars entered to. with both the pac performance racing mx6 and mazda 6 are in profx taking it to the 2jz guys

Was goin to head up this year but both bikes I crew for busted motors at the test n tune and nitro champs earlier this month. Won't have enough time/funds to make las round, first time they've missed it in 20 years..

I crewed in group 1 in 2008, awesome venue, awesome fun but gets FUCKING COLD!

awesome track, pretty crappy facilities. its like a caravan park, trees everywere, only no power, no running water, showers are in the back of the truck, if you dont get there before 6:30am, theres a 30 min line. toilets are the portable variety scattered around the joint, if you dont go just after they are cleaned, you dont go at all. but the sheer number of cars, and variety is going to be awesome.

It's good for a bit of nostalgia, it's like stepping back into the 1980's.

Sure it's not like WSID or Motorplex, but the event is awesome. There is always a quality collection of cars and at night when it gets fucking freezing, along with a killer prepped track, freezing cold air at a low density altitude ... there's always great times/racing.

I remember being at the top of the track when Brett Stevens set the mph record in a Doorslammer (at the time), it sounded like nothing I'd ever heard before... I'm amazed the rods stayed in the block.
