Things to do in Kalgoorlie?

Going to Kal next week for about 3 nights, and I'm wondering what there is to do there during the day/night?

I know there are pubs there, brothels and a super-pit, but apart from those things I'm all out of ideas.

drive back to perth! Few other things like broad arrow pub out of town, the mining hall of fame musseum, the other mine tour place just out of town that does an underground tour. get hassled by the locals. forget what else there is there to see and do

Yeah the Museums are pretty interesting, but its a dirty mining town, I spent 7years of my childhood there and would never move back. Good for a few nights of partying though.
De Barnles Pub has good food and probably is one of the better pubs, and the exchange is good for skimpys :)

'Real' skimpys are all but gone, Gold Bar (Across from the Exchange) is the only place for tits.. Topless waitresses on Tues (may be other days too).

Judd's (Kalgoorlie Hotel, Bottom of Hannan st shops) if your chasing sluts, Woodfire pizzas are good too.

Northend Tavern, Good pub food.

Danny's Bar and Grill, Good restaurant.

The Metropole Hotel in Boulder is a top pub as well (good for a quiet drink, No live bands or sluts), The owner Kev stocks some really interesting beers and he is a great bloke. Always up for a chat.

Mining hall of fame is ok as is the Museum at the top of Hannan St.

Hookers and Brothel tour aren't worth doing..



Avoid:

Rock Inn, Boulder.. Top heavy with Unit/Skin wearing fuckwits

Eating at: The Star and Garter, Paddys Steakhouse and De Bernales Tavern. Shit food and or unclean kitchens.

museums definately worth the look, as is the super shit! (stupid pit). hannans street pubs such as gold bar, exchange, debos and judds worth drinking in. if you have time during the day trip to ora banda and broad arrow (just out of town) is worth your time interesting.

but the town is filled with blokes that do nothing but work so its not full of entertainment as such..... i did the brothel tour and found it pretty cool, for $40 bucks was worth it, and interesting the history of the place/

ora banda. i remember going there back in the 80's
born in kalgoorlie hospital. moved to perth in 1994

theyre used to be cool stuff around like drive in movies. and Charlie Carters but my mate recons theyre all gone.. think where the movies was is now a residential block.

coz ur into your model planes.. theyres a model club there. somewhere near the Tip.. dunno when they meet up.. but they have all sorts of toys. i think i went there last in 1991.

they also have land yachts. theyres a salt flat somewhere they all get out and cut sik on.. i cant remember exactly now but they were pretty cool back in the old days.

spotted the Ora Banda car on Wannaroo Rd just before Northlands shops a few years ago.
