Hey guys, quick question for anybody thats fitted a 300zx shifter.
Where does the thread start, is it at the bottom right near the egde of the opening, or further up inside?

At the bottom? or abouts where the watermark is in that photo? or further up?
The reason I ask, is my the leather boot comes up a little short to the shift knob on my Cefiro, I can pin the boot to the shift knob, but then the boot stretches when I select 1st 3rd or 5th.
Picture of current shifter in the Ceffy (excuse all the junk...better in the car than on the shed floor when it rains)

This picture: A31 manual, appears to have 300ZX shifter...as you can see, creates some slack in the leather boot and reduces the height of the shifter

^ This is what I want, but just want to confirm that I don't need a short throw shifter, and can just get away with using a Z32 helmet ;)
Sorry for my excessive use of the word knob, and thanks in advance for any replies :)
