after some help. Mate has mounted a Tacho with RPM and was wondering where to pick up the RPM signal from the car?

some people like big wanky tachos with blinding shift lights, personally definately not my thing but different strokes for different folks... hey mate i cant upload it to an email, too big, i will search tomorro night and make some calls tomorro regarding you question i have spent the past 45 minutes searching the manual and no joy so far however i do beleiv e you could remove the guage cluster and tap into the tacho wires there positive and negative for lighting which will work when the headlights are on and the signal wiring to the tacho, i will search for more info tomorro mate im knackered, sleep is needed

I think the first question is why?it floats this guys boat (p plater). my mate has been asked while doing other work on the car to wire the shiftlight/rpm gauge up thats already mounted in the car.

he doesnt ask why..just does what he is getting paid to do

Not entirely sure whether the F6 differs drastically to the general BA, but here is the service manual:

I had a quick look, the PCM has an RPM signal (the PCM is located in the top right of the diagram on page 790). As for which pin on which connector, nfi, don't have that much time to look in to it lol.
