Welcome to the forums

What sort of mods have you got? Factory gap is supposed to be 1.1mm, but they tend to run a bit better with a .8 gap if you've got minimal mods.

Engine oil - opinions may vary... anything synthetic more or less has mixed opinions
Trans oil - should be specs www.rb20det.com
Plugs - Nothing but NGK
Belts - Bosch or near offer I think we used, memory is sketchy see above link :p

thanks again

1 last question, i droped the gearbox oil and a lot of metal shavings were in the oil, there were no chuncks of metal but the oil looked pretty old.

is it normal for a gear box to have SOME metal shavings in it??

Mmm not really because they come from somewhere.
The good news is RB20 boxs are cheap and plentiful, and you dont have to replace it until it dies...

metal shavings will be from a bearing shitting itself

.65mm gaps for plugs work well for me

but anywhere from .8-.65 should be good

Run one hose from each cam cover breather to the can, if the can only has one fitting you can tee the two hoses together. Stick a filter on top of the can and your done.
Make sure the can is baffled, if not stuff it with steel wool or you'l end up with oil everywhere.

Lookin at replacing stock paper air filter with after market one.

Any opinions on the best brands?

Is it better to go a pod filter or use the airbox with a panel filter (eg. K&N)?

go the pod, make a box and get some cold air from the guard

cant go past k&n for filters

Gotta start learning somewhere... thats the factory intercooler dude. Follow the piping and it goes to the turbo and throttle body ;)

you wont be able to get much cold air coming thru the front bar to the pod filter with the stock cooler.
if you have some cash get a front mount cooler.

I would just go for copper plugs as IMO iridiums arnt worth $19 each
