Looks like a top event. I wanted to do it but not enough coin.
I am aiming at coming down for a look at the speed dome, so will take some piccies.
All the best to the entrants from here this year.

Also, if you have the time but not the coin, they're always looking for volunteers

rang them this morning, spoke to Kurt from ATC..
he said entry fee is the $1250 (not the $990 like last year),
and the "what tyres are classified as R-comps are decided by the Place scrutineering the cars".. does anybody know if Federal 595 RS's are usually classed as R-comp tyres in these kinds of events?

180 treadwear? I'd say they would classify them as a street tyre.

Numbers are down. If you are sitting on the fence you might want to get an entry in or the event just might not go ahead which i think would spell the end of the ATC/Dutton rally in WA.
exhaust <90dB according to the rules. That rules out most modified cars.

mines less than 90dB, in the next suburb.
they really check that kind of thing? do i actually need to plumb gate back?

Numbers are down because a lot of people, like me are still bitter over last years screw up... We told them time and time again that the dates they chose were no good due to the speed series finals being held on the same weekend and even up until a couple of weeks before the supposed event, no actual venues had been booked.
Also, one of the big draws to dutton for me was the road trip aspect of it... Theres nothing like cruising around the country side at speed with your best mate in passenger seat, both flogging the crap out of your car in a competitive spirit.
This year that is lost due to it being held at Barbagallo, AHG, Speed Dome & Moneyplex... all local events that we can do on any other weekend for a fraction of the price.
I don't often chime into the negative side of things like this, especially putting things in writing for all to view and I am sorry if I offend anyone, but for the money, these guys really need to rethink the event and bring back some of the old charm that this event once had.

^^^^^ Am hearing what you are saying and am not participating this year for various reasons, some of which you mention. Will be the first WA round I have missed.
Re exhaust. Dont stress. Is NEVER checked. Very basic safety scrutineering, but no actual DPI style roadworthy checks.

im the same as Rob i cant understand how it is $1250 for this event when you can go to anyone of those venues for under $100 a day all day not only 2 runs on average setups. i liked going to collie and hanging out the night before but now i think it is shit and especially after the fuck around last year

Yea no ATC for us , prefer to do the Fabcar n Shannons 1 day and do some of the last rounds of the LF speed series for what it cost to do ATC
Collie aspect was sooo much fun.

Last years entry .. Plus you can swap drivers if you like :)
1-Day Classic is $570 per car, plus the AASA fee of $70 per car.

I know nothing about this but if this event goes for 2 days do you get a fair amount of time behind the wheel over both days? Would think that for ~$1300 for 2 days, it works out just slightly better than $750 for one day doing the dayclassic? Or have I missed something obvious?

Mate, you'll be lucky to get 2x runs at barbagallo (and have to spend the entire day waiting in line in the pits between laps in your car)... Thats what usually happens.
If they are jamming everything into 2 days, expect only 2x shots at each event per driver...
Not worth it.
