[15 MAY 2010] Saturday - Biggest Dyno Day

Just came across this. Anyone going? Video link to other states to watch simultaneous dyno comps around the country.


A group of enthusiests from the automotive industry got together with the view of putting on the biggest one day dyno event in Australia.

The Biggest Dyno Day was the result.

This day is open for vehicles from 1 HP to 1,000 HP.

The event is judged on HP per Cubic Inch, so every vehicle that enters has a chance of winning!

In this event, a 4 cylinder can win against a blown big block V8.

How Many Cars?

Well this is an exciting one to answer………

We are looking to run over 300 cars on the day.

With 9 different dynos running, all video linked.

We will are allowing 15 minutes between runs on each dyno, with the dynos running one after the other, approximately every 1.5 minutes.

While this is happening there will be screens that allow the spectators to watch each state perform their dyno runs.

At the end of the night we are hoping to have a shootout between all states involved.

I only came across it by accident on a FB account for a friend over east. I might head down to check it out. something different. Would also be good to see cars from over east going on the dyno live :)

went down there this arvo. Awesome idea. shit turnout. Not surprising given that it wasnt advertised anywhere. Got to watch a couple of my mates cars from over east run on the dyno. The cars I saw on the dyno from here werent anything special. Its a really good idea. It almost completely removes the boring bit inbetween runs because it was almost consistent back to back runs on various dynos around the country. It could have been promoted alot better. I was expecting a big crowd and some good cars on display. Hopefully they make some improvements for next time.

My car pulled 498hp on its run, so I'm pretty happy with that. So close to the magical 500 figure though, spewing :P

Yeah was a pretty cool concept, but yeah, a small turnout... My mate works at WA auto and was telling me about the deal, it was a Wolf promotional thing. Hopefully next time a little advertsing will help a great deal!

not a bad effort at all. I think I saw you pull up just before I left, but I didnt get to see your run. I called it a day after they strapped on the variety bash car.

haha yeah that variety bash car was different :P

I feel pretty bad after my run though.. my screamer melted a big black spot onto their freshly painted workshop floor. I did warn him though that I had a screamer pipe on there, so I guess that was enough warning :P

^^^they painted the floor around easter so don't feel bad, your dyno run HP figure certainly made up for it!
