Aside from rockers and whipple the motor is stock right down to head gaskets.

I didn't listen to it but it didn't look like it shot out the hole like a stock boxed car. What drivetrain mods? Suspension?

Built box, not a huge stall or transbrake tho. Suspension is not setup for drag work, reasonably stiff street setup Pedders sports ryder stuff, pedders springs, upgraded sway bars, link pin kit.. etc
1.6x 60 footer on the 10.98 has done 1.51s before

yes but they come from factory with forged cranks pistons and rods so its not a bad bottom end to be stock.
Steve Jones stock is joke referring to a car being stupidly quick but referred to as stock.

There not forged rods or pistons , the pistons are ceramic coated to handle higher temps.
The crank is identical to that of an NA motor.
I got the Steve Jones joke explained and yes its along the same lines.
LOL all stock rods are forged in practically any engine.

Not to detract from what has been achieved, because its stupidly impressive... But I dont know why people carry on about the car being a 'stocker' when clearly its not. It runs 26psi, it has a bigger cam, 'bottom end', and built box with high-stall. To me, that is some pretty heavy modification to not just the engine, but the drivetrain too.
Either way - its impressive and a big congratulations to you. No one can take that away from it :) I hope sooner (rather than later) I'll be running a 10 second pass!

From what Daryl said I thought this whipple had been bolted onto a stock V6 due to the built bottom end letting go? And while another one is built they took it down with this combo?

Yeh its built auto with 2800-3000rpm stall, its a 4speed 4l60e auto from a VT v6. Stiff pedders sports ryder suspension with koni rear shocks, upgraded sway bars etc. The 10.98 was actually one of my worst 60ft times. They normally are all 1.5x with my PB being 1.52.
I can garantee you the motor is 100% stock l67, heads, cam, everything. Only engine mods it runs 1.90 rewelded factory rockers. Just blower & cooler setup, exhaust and fuel setup.
I just put the motor in for motorvation but since thought may as well see what a stock motor can do because I kept crapping my built forged stroker 4.2L engine due to the guys that keep assembling the short block. I am currently building another 4.2L short block at another shop, and have alloy heads and cam package for it but time and money is hard to find atm.
If turbo4L has a spot free for his drag day i will bring it along and see if it can go faster if andra are not there to complain.

Multiple times it says STOCK MOTOR ...
Clearly you have selective reading , it has stock cam , bottom end is 100% factory Holden.
Theres no reason why a stock gearbox wouldnt be able to repeat the same numbers just thats not the purpose of his setup.

I miss read the above quote thinking it said that there was work done to heads, cam and bottom end. My bad.

yeh I was pretty dark, I got knocked out cos my bad n jumped the start, wasnt paying attention the car I was racing had a dial in time of 14.9sec or something stupid and I dialed in at 11.1 so sitting there waiting for a 4 seconds was distracting as.
Anyway thought cool ill run a grudge run, ill up the boost and actually launch the car instead of pedling it since it was a prepped track and have a go at 10.7sec. I asked to race a mate in grudge and so they got another guy to jump in front of my mate so we could race together. We pushed the car all the way up to keep it cool, fired it up @ the chain, half way out he sais go back and then puts the chain across after i moved back so i couldnt run. Warmed it up for nothing and then 5mins later we get told no more grudge laps after someone dropped oil everywhere.
I guess it was also my first grudge lap for the night so was even more pissed off and was pretty early so no way they were gonna run over time. Anyway couldnt help my self but they had a good ol sad at me.
Track sucked nard on wednesday, was so slippery, no idea how it ran 10. The 10 run is one of my worst 60ft times, i only got 2 runs in with more boost the first one 11.02 hit limiter on both gearshifts and 2nd run 10.9.
Looks like ill have to wait till next season.
