Looks nice and mean, twin scroll must be fun. Power?
Thought about a front lip?

tiddy
06-05-2010, 04:53 PM
Driving style... I get bored easily. I was driving around with a brass button clutch and dropping second alot.....
On the bonnet? Scoops and shit flying off of your liberty!
No more runs up the hill mitch... 1 demerit left.
I can't put on a front lip because it will get ripped off fairly quickly. Driveway at work is knarly.

TJ

Ah ok...

Ill ask again

What the fuck is with the bonnet scoop? Is it some aftermarket abortion?

I'm getting a bit bored.
At the moment just running the wrx with a standard computer and 380cc injectors.
So for a temporary fix until I get a halfcut I'm thinking of putting in a v3 sti RA computer, 440cc injectors and a 100mm air flow meter. Would the car run alright or are the cams/timing a bit different?

Joe
18-05-2010, 11:58 AM
STi RA computer is designed for Jap fuel, you'll more than likely get a fair bit of ping. Timing will be all out too as you mentioned.

Bigger AFM won't work with the STi RA computer either, only the stock AFM.

You are better off getting a Power FC.

JME
18-05-2010, 12:36 PM
yes it will pingpingpingping

tiddy

I know that dtrally is running a stock wrx with a v3 sti computer, 440s and the orange label 100mm afm... Goes like a shower of shit.
Not keen on power fc as engine has been rebuilt because of the damn things.
Was just thinking it might help my running rich problem as fuel is a bitch to clean off of the rear bumper,

Joe

How did the Power FC blow your engine?

The only way it could do that is a bad tune.. just put it back in and get it tuned properly!

How did the Power FC blow your engine?

The only way it could do that is a bad tune.. just put it back in and get it tuned properly!

It got tuned at intune, in spearwood or something, after bout 200m of driving 8 valves had dropped, car was perfect when it went in, and fuked when it came out. Went to xspeed and they tested for compression. Had no compression on any cylinder.

Intune didn't fix it, instead they said to take it elsewhere. So xspeed rebuilt the top end. And the person who tuned it has gone over to the eastern states now and pulled an 8 second, fucker!!

Then 2nd power fc... Ran for about 10km and the coolant temp started to drop from 60 right down to -170 on the hand controller. Engine shut down. Car was then garaged for a few years stuck at 61k kms and then I came along.

3rd power fc... Car just refused to run!

The things got some anti apexi voodoo shit on it or something so not keen on apexi again.

So get a proper ECU... Autronic/Motec... or even Link or whatever its called now...

Don't try and throw different stock ECU's at the thing until it works... Modified car requires modified ECU/Tune... No 2 ways about it!

TJ
18-05-2010, 04:23 PM
LOL since when is a power fc not a proper ecu?

Bang for your buck it is one of the best ECU's on the market.

TJ

ps how is it running a twin scroll with all the fruit and a stock ecu?

ps how is it running a twin scroll with all the fruit and a stock ecu?

Doing it and doing it well are worlds apart, assuming it is infact running all the fruit with the stock ECU. Like he said it's overfuelling like a bitch so it's probably just pouring bulk fuel in, dunno how it'd be going with timing though

guns don't kill people, people kill people
ecu's don't kill cars, people kill cars.

doing mods for more power with out changing the operating parameters, your an amateur.

Going well enough to slowly pull away from a monaro cv8 at any speed.
Available funds looking kinda shit at the moment after tyres, pads, rotors and balsac spec wheel nuts.
Soon enough I will get a motec
was going to grab fozzys sti and transplant the cosworth, motec and dogger into my car but it's my old dogbox and I hate it!

mitcho

Dont be hating on PowerFc's. Take the pingpingpingping to ASG and get Sean to tune and be done with it. Mines been running on 1.5bar for like 2 years now no drama's so he knows how to work a PFC and dak dak motors.

so first one had a dodgy tune.. and a new ecu was bought?

second one sounds like a dodgy temp sensor, and ANOTHER new ecu was bought?

either way i'd be putting a proper ECU in (powerfc or otherwise), not mucking about with stock ones. and get a PROPER tuner too.

My bad, did not mean that the Power FC is not a "proper" ECU... Was discounting it on the fact that he wasn't prepared to get another one, and was more as oppose to getting a stock ECU to run it?

I really don't understand how this thing actually drives on the stock ecu with all the mods...

haha stock powah!!
at 1.3 bar before it cuts :)
I will sort it out sooner or later. Might try apexi number 4 and get it tuned at asg.
Shouldn't have a problem, brand new wiring loom
