H1GHROLLR
02-05-2010, 08:30 PM

leaving airbags in??? fuck driving that....

H1GHROLLR
02-05-2010, 09:29 PM
nope passenger airbag is removed, drivers is still in but the control box no longer has power , on the other hand i would prefer to cop an airbag in the head with a helmet, neckbrace and harness then have one go off in a daily ??

I'm thinking more explosive charges when running a highly flammable fuel... but hey, if it's disconnected no worries.

cheers for comments guys, as said im not expecting huge things from it im just keen for a run i dont expect to win anything for a long time, i raced speedway for 10 years and soon realised when you get competitive and take it too serious there is no fun in it at all so im just gona get out on the strip and have a blast . . .

beefcake
03-05-2010, 06:31 AM
ahh that explains your liking of the speedway style kirkey seat , damn dunno how you guys get in an out of them

H1GHROLLR
03-05-2010, 07:01 AM
LOL ha ha ha you have to turn side ways then straighten up, there so comfy once your inside, i use to do 40 laps around a chopped up clay oval and still get out fine, but the next day you pay for it LOL

+1, I've sat in my old mans GTR-XU1 dirt track car and those seats are an absolute pain in the ass.

Looking forward to the updates, keep 'em coming.

Cant polish said turd. but it could be rolled in glitter:lol: dont get the cutting of the door shells then putting trims back on. Looks the goods either way.

PSI 304
03-05-2010, 03:30 PM
Cut out doors for weight reduction, then would probably have to be sheet metalled or covered by something...sharp edges = hazard. Door trims would have been easiest and cheapest way at the time my guess, and minimally heavier than other solutions.

Tre-Cool
03-05-2010, 03:51 PM
what rims were you looking to run 10 or 8" slick?

H1GHROLLR
03-05-2010, 05:50 PM
9 inch slicks bud , as for the doors being cut out, i removed the window mech and cut to the shape of the trim, pinned windows, i am going to run sheet metal eventually but surprisingly the standard ones weigh nothing anyway, sheet metal/carbon is just for wank really i guess

Hows this progressing, only a couple of month until the season fires up. :)

H1GHROLLR
02-08-2010, 07:29 PM

shane
02-08-2010, 07:33 PM
Cubes are good.

H1GHROLLR
02-08-2010, 07:39 PM

Run the 346 on gas until you decide which way you're going to go.. Might as well have some fun with it til you make plans for a bigger combo. This is all for fun after all so get out there and have some!

H1GHROLLR
03-08-2010, 09:21 AM
he he he it would be fun to just make huge ls1 mess all over the plex with a 500 shot of giggle gas :p i will be handing out pistons to the crowd

stumps.
03-08-2010, 09:23 AM
There is a thread on ls1 about someone who ran numerous passes on a stock 346 with gas. He later turboed it stock.

Very good read if you can find it

AGIT8D
03-08-2010, 09:30 AM
nitrous isn't really the devil most think it is, if you can find a good tuner. forged pistons certainly wouldn't go astray but to have a bit of fun you should just give it a go i reckon. rip the nitrous kit off the clubby and put it on the drag car!

Stef
03-08-2010, 09:57 AM
just nos it. if it pops then cubes!

shane
03-08-2010, 01:12 PM
I'd go nos on your motor until it dies. Remember your cage is only good for 10's anyway so start off aiming for low 11's in super street then up the nos for mid 10's and super sedan. I started straight off in super sedan and it takes the enjoyment out of it getting knocked out in the first round every meet while you learn.

I give props to Sideshow Performance wiring over in sydney. i sent them a stock vz fbw harness and they converted it back to cable and it came with just the required relays and fuses to run without all the extra shit in the car.

Not sure if you have followed my build on ls1 but there are pics of my ute's engine bay their.

FML!!!

HAYBA1LR has 100 cars already, pretty ones and fast ones, yours on the other hand should be your only real pride and joy for the next 3-5 years - so I can see why you've gone to the extra lengths!

But it would be nice to see it out there this season Lewis, if everything comes together in time :)

hahaha plan is to wack some bigger and better heads on then have some runs N/A which in theory should go very low 11 if not a high 10 ? maybe ? then wack some gas in and max the cage out till i feel the need to go faster , :p then josh will have some new bars to smash in if he loves me enough . . . .

dropped the motor off to mitch today for it to receive some more loving via a very well thought up custom grind cam and some more higgins heads

UPDATE (NOT TO DO WITH THE CAR:) )

well we have finally decided to get a bit more serious with the racing side of this car and it now has a registered business name to it, more of a team name then anything but will also have stickers and apparel behind it too, my self and malcom have got the name secured and planning into clothing and stickers is now in process, the name of the team/club/business is MRC MOTORSPORT , i dont want any one to get the wrong idea and think this will have anything to do with the performance industry and/or anyone elses cars , IT IS NOT A WORKSHOP, simply a race team that will be selling merchandise to advertise itself. . . stay posted for updates on the club etc and if you are interested in supporting the team by repping stickers or clothing please contact me and i can give you a little more info..... mark

Tre cool's dad now has it and i believe its running a decent size turbo.

He may be able to confirm this for you.

Turbo2.6L
05-12-2012, 02:05 PM
It runs a 416ci or similar engine with a T1000 turbo kit & runs 10.40's

Tre-Cool
05-12-2012, 04:47 PM
yep as above. runs 10.3's. but thankfully the t1000 kit is coming off soon for a twin turbo kit so we can actually run some boost in the fucker.
