Just got back from watching this with the missus... Freaking Awesome Movie. For a sequel it was just as good as the first.
War Machine is Awesome, and the Banter between the characters gives it the comic relief factor

Very disappointed. Easily Favreu's shittest movie. Nowhere near the quality of the first.

I too think the final battle should have lasted for longer
My Mate did make a good point though, if they go "all out" with the fight scene it will limit them with the next few movies that they are "apparently" making
Avenges etc
For those who were right into comics they will know what i'm/my Mate talking about

One of the biggest reasons it was so disappointing IMO. The whole movie was setting up for The Avengers, and took away from Iron Man and his problems. The first wasn't exactly kept close to the real story... but there was so many dumb things they did in 2!
1. MKII suit (War Machine) vs MKV suit - Rhodes would've got slaughtered.
2. WTF did they do to Justin Hammer? Did they make him queer?
3. Favreau got more screen time than Johansson. Ok then!
4. Ivan Vanko was an astronaut. Mark Scarlotti was Whiplash in the Marvel universe.
5. The kiss. What happened to the original trailer where Potts kisses the Iron Man mask before he jumps out of the plane? Lets have an action movie (that has a total of 5 minutes action) and throw in a kiss for 20 seconds in a totally irrelevant part of the movie with absolutely no lead up.
+ another 50 dumb things Favreau has done with absolutely no relevance. It was a decent movie to kill a couple of hours with some action thrown in at the end. Another sequel that couldn't cut it though.
Pretty good review from The Age: http://blogs.theage.com.au/schembri/archives/2010/04/rust_shows_on_i.html

Is this just like all Marvel movies?
Super hero (Iron Man) saves people for half the movie than along comes Villain hes bigger stronger faster Iron Man is about to die at the end to him and then Iron Man has emotions about his love/life then does some bullshit and happy ending?

Howard Stark in a side-series comic created Captain America's shield. It's in Iron Man 1 too. It's the same material that Tony used to create his Iron Man suits.

Is this just like all Marvel movies?Your description is spot-on, just replace 'Marvel with 'Hollywood'. It got to the point long ago where "if it has a budget of more than $20m, it's gonna be entertaining, but not actually worth your time seeing".

Well, i really enjoyed it.
Granted, i do agree with "3. Favreau got more screen time than Johansson. Ok then!" fourseven.
and thats something the missus and i discussed, where was the kiss of the helmet and the jump out of the plane "you complete me" line.
Other than that though, i found it really good

The First Avenger: Captain America will be the first movie, set just after WW2 I think. Then of course they will milk it for a sequel.
We know Iron Man 3 is coming, and Thor, and The Avengers movie. Hopefully IM3 is better, and even as a massive Favreau fan I hope he doesn't direct it.
