Hi Everybody!
Ok i need some info or opinions on V Mount InterCoolers. Legal or otherwise? When my car gets here do you think the pits will have an issue with it being this way?
I hear stories that they are ok, others not so due to radiator support altercations..
Opinions please :)

Above what you have said begs the question "why"
As there is not really anyone running this setup in aus. Your only going to get opinions on this.
I dont understand why you would do it unless you had a track only car.
In normal driving conditions the radiator is going to heat soak the cooler and increase your intake temps over a st FMIC setup.
Dont mean to rain on the parade but just curious as to your reasoning.

pics to support would be nice, im guessing you mean having the intercooler behind the radiator, and on some sort of angle eg the top secret supra 3SGTE thingo

from what i know it is when you got your radiator layed on an angle then the intercooler on top of it on an angle in the shape of a v :) i think its good if you drift so when you crash you wont break lots of intercoolers it also helps get even flow for both your radiator and intercooler.

everyone knows what a V-Mount set up is. its bad cause the rad support has to be cut. the only cars i have seen with V-mount and rad support in place is series 8 rx7

that be the one.. ok.. i cannot post pics as it would give away what im importing. YEs it sure is an interesting setup, and a much cleaner job then that 32, which imho is VERY nice

My Bonnet is vented backwards(?) so the cooler is shown if you sit in the drivers seat.
More opinions insults are appreciated... somebody has convinced me that the pits are not going to appreciatre this, and its gonna cost a killing to get it all repiped up..
Nobody in Australia has V Mounts? i personally think its a brilliant setup, and yes, when the inevitable happens when you cap'n crunch your front spoiler you wont do ya cooler at the same time!
that is HER32's new ride. very nice indeed

lukian, im SURE you can get this engineered. my advice to you, is DONT FUCKN WORRY ABOUT IT, until the car arrives. You get caught up thinking about too much crap. Get the car here first, then take it bit by bit. If u can put a 400hp nissan motor in a 1970s datsun, im sure they wont mind a v-mount. But im definatly interested to see how you go, becuase i wouldnt mind running the same setup on my own car.

Like BUTTERS said aint really worth having unless it is a full track car. Pits probably wont like the bonnet vents/hole, but you can have a go at temporarily blocking the hole up with a piece of plastic/rubber and some supa glue. Hey, i nearly got away with it and i did a 10 minute bodge job!
