apexi even though rumour has it they are one minute declared bankruptcy, next minute not making or supporting powerfcs any more

are making a LCD powerfc hand controller! the number one complaint about your gameboy is that its not so easy to see in the sun... fear no more!
no functionality improvements just the screen and a light sensor so it adjusts on day/night
It's like going from an 80s Gameboy to a 90s Gameboy

looks great but i won't be spending $450 (+mark up) just for a new hand controller.

Nengun has them (just the colour controller) for AU$400 landed.

Serious question... How many people actually muck about with their hand controllers anyway? I would have thought that it would be fine after a tune from a decent workshop & not need tinkering with??
I can see the benifits for someone that tunes themselves, but was of the opinion that most would have workshop dyno-tunes over road-tunes.

most people use it for monitoring various things (like knock count, engine temps etc)

The hand controller gives you a lot of information, like boost and all your temps. So even if your not using it to tune, its still handy to have.

not mucking around with the tune but if its untuned or needs a new tune, ie. bigger injectors, new afm etc then its easy to make a quick fix and make it drivable to the tuners. can also adjust idle with a/c on so it doesnt drop too low or idle too high. that's all i mucked around with so far

+1 but rarely muck around with it...
some people i know use it to try different things when troubleshooting various problems

looks good but i agree that 400 for a controller is a little steep,i play with my controller to change ignition and fuel i mainly do it when its cold or hot eg backing off the ignition when its hot and advancing it when its a little cooler outside.

i know its off topic, but shouldn't your car be done by now?

geez, must be a pretty highly strung tune if you need to tweak timing with the temperature.
why not just get it tuned in warmish weather so it will be safe all year?

Especially when they have an air temp correction table
I can imagine how tuners love users running around tweaking the knock in a box

wrong way to approach
tune should be correlated to air temp. no need to change things if you get it right the first time. but light changes the hand controller is invaluable

sorry to hijack this thread, but what does your temp normally sit at ?
My pfc reads normal temps like ~15 deg then once warm it will read like 40 constantly and not change much.
is this standard or what?
