Am looking for someone to help us with some rewiring work on my 92 mx83 toyota cressida, car is currently running with a 1jz vvti engine and automatic transmission.

The problems that need sorting are as follows:

1. Reverse lights not working, have tested with switch from mx83 end and they light up as does dash lights, but cannot find wires from jzx100 ecu to match up to mx83 plug for dash selector lights.

2. Heater doesn't work, fan blower works when powered to battery as does climate control, but no blower motor, have changed fuses, relays, even blower coil, but no luck.

3. No overdrive, still using factory jzx100 auto, have been told it needs to be wired positive when off on switch and reverse polarity when engaged, as jzx100 shifter switches to overdrive when you move lever sideways.

4. neutral safety switch is not functioning car can be started in any gear.

5. Battery light not working on dash cluster, not a big issue, but would like to get it fixed if possible.

I have many wiring diagrams for the mx83 and the jzx100, but haven't found any reference for reverse lights, overdrive in the pinouts, my ecu number is 89661-22800.

If any auto sparkies who want to do some cash work and could help us out as the car has to go over the pits and needs these electrical problems sorted before she will pass, give us a call and can work something out.

Thanks

Spoke to mark, thanks for the number,

Can't just bodge it up, as when you place shifter in reverse it would be nice to have lights incase someone reverses straight into you haha.

getting the reverse to work is easy, find the reverse switch on the gear box or there might be a sensor under the auto selector stick send on the gear box, splice into the out going side(test light will help you),then run a wire neatly to your reverse lights

Had auto sparky look at it and couldn't match up the wiring colours from gearbox to harness, just wired up a switch for now a bit bodge, but would like to get overdrive sorted as it's a pain in the ass.
