Any ideas on how to loosen the nut that adjusts the height on a set of adjustable coilovers? I've tried with all the force i can using the C Spanner and the height adjustment nut won't budge.
Anything I can do or is there somewhere i can take it to?
Thanks

easiest way is usually take the coilover out, then secure it in the vice
thoroughly clean the threads all around it, as if they are full of dirt itll make it harder when you try to hit the collar around. then just let some rp7/wd40 soak in, then while in the vice get a big flathead screwdriver and big hammer and bang away. being out of the car you should be able to get better angle and strength and it should come loose easily

Small amount of heat . I use butane torch and works a treat .

good luck.

Distrbd is right, heat is the best option here. The corroded steel and aluminum parts have bonded themselves together. You need to heat the nut up so it expands and frees it self.

If it still doesn't move don't hammer the nut too much as aluminum is weak and you'll most likely damage it. Apply more heat (on all sides) and try again.

Also, as people have already mentioned, it's gonna make the job a lot easier if you take 5 minutes to pull the coilover out and put it in the bench vice, trust me!

Cheers guys for the help, much appreciated.
I will have a crack at it with the flame this weekend and hopefully all should be well.

Tried CRC or WD-40? I found that to do a lot....

It's not dirty or rusted or anything. They have only done 5000ks and look like new but I beleive they have been sitting for a while (Tein HAs) which may have caused them to seize. I guess it won't hurt to give them a spray to see how they will go but I don't see how wd40 or the like will make it through the threads.
Thanks

WD40/INOX will find a way always... I'd whack it with a hammer if you can get to it.
