Hi, got petrol 2.4 wondering if anyone knows if the choke is an electronic switch? as mine doesnt have the choke lever that is show in the service manual.. been replaced with an electronic switch which i think is for spotties.

Check the carby see if theres a cable coming off the choke and if there is trace it back into the cab, probably auto choke?

Correct, I'm fairly certain they ran aut choke :confused:

If its the dial in choke, the plastic knob is prone to breaking so the previous owner may have just pushed it back into the dash and used the hole for that new switch. That is based on looking at my 92 diesel hilux may be different in yours.

Petrol 22r's all have electric chokes, they are prone to sticking though.
Choke dial is diesel's only.

Cool cheers guys, it was replaced with a switch for the spotlights! must be auto
