I need this in my life although it makes watermarks in photos now almost useless.

CS5 is 'launched' in about 2 weeks but who knows when it will be available for sale.. I'm getting prepared for wallet rapage.

CS5 Will come out between september and October roughly according to my rep at work. (manage camera area at harveys). I would expect to pay around 3k for it.

Watermarking in photos was always generally useless. This just means a monkey can now remove watermarks. People in the industry are fucked now that Photoshop have managed to decrease the value of what they do but.

Me too. :) this is straight from Australian supplier Scholastic so don't blame me if dates get pushed back. I doubt it though as the product codes etc have already been thrown in the systems at Harvey Norman.

OLD news.
I saw this at the Adobe Roadshow conference back in early February.
Its an evolution of the existing CS4 Content aware scale, which I have been slaughtering to death.

[FFOUR]
15-04-2010, 12:51 PM
Yeah the content aware fill looks promising and very handy, however I wonder what kind of PC/Mac will be needed to run it efficiently!

Magic
15-04-2010, 01:10 PM
Very hard to say, depends what size your working on. I can edit photos on my Pentium Dual Core netbook with 4GB RAM.

V70R
15-04-2010, 01:38 PM
Its also the video card carrying a high level of importance.
After a recent lengthy discussion with a few Adobe technicians we revealed CS4 was not tested on all video cards, including the standard card issued in most new iMacs. This could case the program to suddenly crash if Content Aware Scale or other functions were used. Im still awaiting feedback from them.

Magic
15-04-2010, 02:02 PM
My netbook has a shared card. photoshop is 2D most things will still run without one. besides like that smooth panning and zooming etc.

The program is like 650 MB.

Has to be stripped out.

If it's for Windows it takes less than 1GB in storage space. Mac is a tiny bit more.

Puppet Warp is another feature that will be very handy. If you take a photo of an animal or model, or model that looks like an animal, and their footing is wrong, with CAF and PW you can fix their footing, stride etc without wrecking the background.

Q. Lightroom vs. Aperture vs. Bridge

Is there that much of a difference in RAW processing to warrant the purchase of Lightroom or Aperture? And could CS5's bridge be equal to that of Lightroom? (However in saying that I realise Lightroom 3.0 is coming out)

Magic
01-05-2010, 05:42 PM
Main purpose of Lightroom is to edit photos in RAW more than one at a time. Basically a digital management tool (ala Bridge) with editting capabilities enough for a basic to professional photographer. Photoshop just has more tools but the essentials are in LR. I havn't used Aperture before so I cant compare the two.

Well it came out 2 days ago. I'm still waiting on my store to get our stock but. Turns out I was quoted for the design pack over the phone couple months back, its actually $199 for CS5 student/teacher edition, and $399 is for the design standard or premium, cant remember.

Very good price for us uni kids. :P
