Hi everyone,

Sunday arvo I had an impromptu photo shoot with my mates, Dad's Granturismo. I just popped round to say hey and had my cameras with me so decided to position the GT and get some shots.

Once I was finished with the GT we gave the neighbour across the street a yell and she brought over her Granturismo S! Whilst taking pics 3 random Granturismo's drove past!!

Long story short... A nice late chilled Sunday afternoon, 2 Maserati's, 1 photographer, 9 photos = Good little arvo.

Enjoy:)

Cheers,
Josh

One of my favourite car
Look out for the convertible version coming our way soon.
You should have removed the number plates for the shoot - then placed them back on the different car and see if they'd notice :)

Any reason for that?

A car is not a lawn mower!
and,
Cars should never be photographed at boat ramps unless they are towing a boat...
Both are pet hates of photographers... and mine.
Grass looks terrible - the colour for one and the fact that it distracts from the car, gives off terrible refelections, also grass just looks limp wristed - you want the car to be tough and the road, concrete or even gravel does this. It helps give the car a footing.
You should only smoke grass not use it in photos of cars. :boink:

Here's some photos of mine at a boat ramp :P Brodie took these because well.. You can't really see the boat ramp, the jetties make a nice background, and it was the only area we could get any pace for driving shots, then turn around and repeat. These are straight off the camera.

In most cases I completely agree with you. Parking of car ON boat ramp is pretty fail. I've done it, with the car sacked out, they looked okay but car is out of place there, way too low to be able to tow anything.

I could say something here, but might refrain!

A lot of great photographers here so I say this as an opinion not trying to piss anyone off...

I like photos of cars on grass... I think you have a point but nice green grass looks good. I always prefer shots to be in direct sunlight or afternoon sunlight not shade but I am down for grass shots.

Im going to go against the grain here.

Whilst the grass rule is golden for most automotive Togs, i say fuck Rules!

Its art at the end of the day, OP pulled of some great shots here that work with the conditions at hand. Composed well and technically good.

These rules are what get photographer in ruts, RMD?, do whatever aslong as you and your customer likes it and you getting paid! Break the rules, make your shots stand out from the rest!

Deluca has nice grass, so one would assume that's why he gets photos of his cars on it..

best shots I have seen are those in a studio with white floor and blending white background.

IMO the Maserati shots on the grass work well. Its a dark car and it contrasts well on the green grass.

not trying to discredit you but claiming all photographers that its there pet hate is a wild claim.

cars on road/concrete/gravel....gets done alot so i dont see the problem with experimenting different places. its an art hence its subjective. not everyone loves the same art.

i like the shots above and a car on grass can look great...it aint a lawn mower and no it wont look any less tough. the way it looks and is presented comes alot to the visuals of the car and the way its photographed.
then again not all want to give off a TOUGH look. some wanna give off a classy/elegant/clean/slick/mean/secretive etc etc etc.

yes you are a photographer but by no means can you speak on behalf of ALL photographers

sure the above photos arent "technically" 100% but i think the above photos make the car look real fuken tough....its in the shade on the grass under trees, etc...like its lurking
its the angle, stance and the actual look of the car that make it look bad and a car you dont wanna fuk with. i say great work but thats my opinion and by no means am i a expert photographer but more a car enthusiast with a passion to when i get a chance take photos be it cars, nature, ppl, etc

I think what Jordan was trying to say, and what is the general consensus among car photographers is that cars should be photographed on a surface they are normally on - eg bitumen/dirt/gravel etc

Grass is also a very cheap and degrading way of making a car look lower than it actually is.

But alas, its an opinion and feedback. I'm personally not gonna care if people continue to shoot cars on grass,IMO, I think that it could look so much better on a hard pack surface.

Rules in photography are more like Guidelines, in the end if it looks good it looks good, I hate boat ramps though :)

Again not teling anyone they are wrong or tying to take away from anyone as I love most of your pics...

BUT LOL AT THERE BEING A TECHNICAL PHOTOGRAPHICAL CODE...

So many fucking douche bag, Jack Johnson, Im a fag with a guitar on a beach during sunsets call themsleves photographers, so many hippie uselees talented fucks with no talent call themselves photographers... Hey the part time nurse selling pics on Ebay is a photographer... There is no way anyone can generalise what all these dickheads think.

Its like art or Lady Gaga's fashion sense. There is no generic path. There is no rules or guidelines.

I think every pictures has its merits.. Everyone loves different shit. I like Grass shots - you dont... doesnt make either of us right or wrong. In the end 95% of Jordans phots will be EPIC compared to someone else who will be remebered for 1... I may not know about photography, but I know about generalising :-)
