Converting Quicktime to MPG/AVI

I have taken some vids on my 500D at the highest setting which has given me a high def Quicktime file which is about 200mb

does anyone know of a converter that will be able to handle this sort of file to convert to something a bit smaller that I can upload to youtube? I have had issues in the past converting High Def video and doesnt seem to convert properly, keen to know what you guys use?

Can't remember the exact name, but usually use something by Allok, Xilisoft or Fairstars, will double check for ya when I get home.

you can try ps3 video convertor, i use it, does a good job

They come out as a .mov file.
