Just sent my money through.

Anyone else planning to come along? Lack of numbers of late doesn't seem good for the club, and personally I would hate to see these nights come to an end. For the beginners out there, having an instructor with you is well worth alot more than trying to figure it all out for yourself.

Yep, keen to try new tires.

Guys and girls of Antilag... The simple reality is we need your support to help us continue these events... We have 3 entries so far... We need around 30... Normally in summer we dont have this problem.... Apparently this year noone wants to race??

How much does it cost to race including cams licence (it'll be my first time)?
Does the car have to pass an inspection before it hits the track (rear tyres are getting down to wear markers)?
Thanks

Get new tyres.

So what does your car have to have??

- Road registered/road worthy
- MUST have a passengers seat and seatbelt.
- Minimum of 1kg fire extinguisher bolted in a place that it is easily accessible (can be purchased though us ~$65)
- NO loose items.
- A CAMS approved battery triangle MUST be visible on the car and show the location of the battery.

A few things we recommend you do before making the trip up to the tack on the night.
- Flush/bleed your brakes and it's recommended to run high temperature brake fluid
- Check your brake pads and rotors have plenty left on them it's recommended to run quality high temperature brake pads
- Check all your tyres had adequate tread on them.
- Plenty of fuel (no service station close by may be a good idea to bring a jerry can)
- Check your suspension components are not loose and are in good condition.

That's your car sorted, what do you need??

- CAMS Level 2 Speed License (this will be on offer on the night)
- Current Australian Class C drivers license
- Long pants
- Long sleeved cotton shirt
- Enclosed shoes
- Certified motorbike/race car helmet (MOTOCROSS HELMETS ARE NOT SUITABLE)
- 0% blood alcohol

Cost breakup:

$165 - Full payment for No Limit Car Club Members(early payment)
$185 - Full payment for No Limit Car Club Members(includes LATE PAYMENT FEE)

$180 - Full payment + No Limit Car Club Membership payment for non members with current CAMS L2S licenses.
$200 - Full payment + No Limit Car Club Membership payment for non members with current CAMS L2S licenses. (includes LATE PAYMENT FEE)

$275 - Full payment + No Limit Car Club Membership + CAMS L2S year license payment.
$295 - Full payment + No Limit Car Club Membership + CAMS L2S year license payment. (includes LATE PAYMENT FEE)

Cheers mate, sounds good. I will definetly be there then. How do i put my name down? Can i just rock up on the night and fill in the CAMS and the rest of the forms or do I fill it in before hand? I can pay whenever needed.
Thanks.

See the link i posted. There are payment details (IE bank deposit info), all the forms required, and an email address to send the required forms as well.

Failing that, fill out all required forms, and bring cash on the night. With what is so far a small turnout it shouldnt be a drama.

Keen to bring the torry down for a test out?

Do older V8's ever come out on these?

Im just keen to do a few laps - get to drive my car and possibly crawl over onto the pad and do one!

haha

She runs on 18s with little rubber and the suspension is quite low up front.. Was ok at Powercruise but didnt really give it to much shit...

Anyone had any killer spins ? I am not keen to bin the car into a wall either.. .Just wanting to get an idea of things as I haven't participated in a night before..

I have not seen any older 8's out there personally, but in saying that would be good to see a couple. Have seen a few people go off the track, but only heard of a couple bingles.

Hell bring it up! If your worried, just go easy at the start. I know i did/still do (yes I need to grow a set)

well ok sounds good! will work out funds this pay and just gota find my cams license and see if it is still valid.

pretty keen to drive my fucking car with the new motor finally!! Missed motorvation so this would a good chance to enjoy a bit of a thrash... ( might try get my old 14 inch wheels back and use them... )

and i have a new car on its way so my first child needs as much attention as she can get while she is the favourite!

One more question - whats the lighting like?

Old Torry hasnt got the best lights!

If I can sort out tyres and an alignment in the next few days I'll be there in an s15.
Went to an earlier night (dec) in my golf gti and had a fuck-ton of fun (which is a considerable amount). A great mix of cars makes it interesting to watch too.

A good event IMO and they deserve more support.

At the end of the day you go as hard as you want... So its 100% safe... Wear marks are ok. Bald with canvas/steel is not... Must have battery triangle ad fire extinguisher.

Lighting is actually very good at night... But it makes it a totally different track compared to daytime if you have been around during daylight hours.

If you take an instructor with you they will be very uncomfortable.

Can be sorted with a milk crate ?

It is a b reg track car so not that keen on spending 1.5k on a seat and rails ATM though if thats the rule no problem.

As long as you mount the crate with high tensile bolts and fit a cushion to it then that should be fine.

But as far as I know you do not need a passenger seat.

Technically we have to do a lap with you first. To make sure you know where to put the car etc. I mean its kinda the point that as instructors that we can help guide and coach you to get the best lines etc. We can always sort something out. If you know some one that is coming and they would let you d slow laps in their car to show you can hold a racing line etc. Then thats fine. Like i said we can always work it out. PM me if you like.

is there going to be live timing at the event?

bjohnson

is there going to be live timing at the event?

I wouldn't think so Richard.
I don't think the timing display has been there since the October event

I'm pretty sure they will only run it if they get enough numbers (around 30) to warrant using their competition licence.

Lonewolf

Cheers,

Vaughan.

P.S. I will be down there this Thursday for a bit of a fang, giving some RE55's a go for the 1st time too, hoping for a new PB :fart:

You can also head down to the CAMS WA office to fill out your form/pay your renewal and get a receipt that you can use with your old licence to enter most events..

Had a good night.
Was getting used to a new car (S15), so I apologise if I held anyone up. It didn't help that I misread the flags at one point and ran at cool-down pace wondering why an Evo, BMW M3 and Z4 were chomping my date.

I was quicker in my Golf than I was in the S15 :P

Probably worthy of a separate thread - but young Mr Jones last night set what I believe is the Barbagallo short track record for a street car - 52.8s!!

http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/results.cgi?25/03/2010.BARS.D1

I was following him on that lap and that car and driver (particularly through the esses) just seems to defy physics.

Congrats mate!!

I was using some second hand Yokies rather than fresh RE55's. Shows what a difference tyres and suspension setups make to times.
