vehicle height

well its been a while since ive had a yellow so im not actually sure what the legal height of a car is. When i get pulled over i just say 100mm but im not sure if thats 100% true.After a breif look on the DPI site i couldnt find anything either.

So yer what is the legal height?

Pretty sure you're correct, 100mm from the lowest point of the vehicle

100mm fully laden, and there is a height restriction on bottom of the headlights off the ground too.

there is also height restrictions on vehicles with tyre sidewalls over 100mm, but i dont think that applies to to many people here...

guy at DPI told me the car needed to be 100mm off the ground with a full car load

yep, with all seats filled.
so if the car is registered as a 2 seater then you can get away with it being a bit lower.

Spot on mitchy. Must be 100mm from lowest point of the car (in the import world we live in that usually means the barrel of the cannon on your exhaust but usually your diff centre otherwise) with an adult in each seat with a seat belt available to use.

In reagards to the headlight side of things, there must be at least 500mm from the lower edge of any forward facing light to the ground. Now you know why using foglights without fog is an offence, as described in the ADR's.

well that clears alot up for me. saves me alot of hassle. i realised today though that the measuring stick the police used was actually wrong. my car sits 115mm off the flooring and it still hit.
