hey guys ive been on this site for over 2 years. and gone through a few cars. I dont post much but im on the site nearly everyday. just thought i should post some info and pics of my newest car which i purchased about 6 months ago.

Here it is

Model: HSV VZ R8 CLUBSPORT
Year: December 05
Color: Impulse Blue
suspension: (front)king supers lows (rear)super super lows
Engine: LS2 6L
Power: 297kw (around 400hp) maybe abit more with exhaust system
Gearbox: 6speed manual
Diff: Standard LSD
Brakes: HSV R8 brakes (fronts) slotted and drilled, (Backs) Slotted
Wheels: BSA 19" chrome mags
Tyres: (Fronts) 235/35/R19 (backs) 245/35/R19
Interior: R8 gauges, R8 short shifter, all r8 mods besides leather interior
Engine Mods: None as of now
Exhaust: Full twin 3" stainless X-Force system

Future mods in order
1. OTR, extractors and tune
2. Mega lumpy cam
3. Paint VZ R8 mags black and put back on the car.
4. Remove spoiler. weld the holes and put vz senator spoiler on.

Impulse blue is the best holden colour by alot, would go really well if paint the wheels black.

Sorry to hijack thread, in regards to painting rims black, what place would u recommend, and how much does it normally cost

supercheap autos - septone matt black or satin black.

$12 per can. 3 cans does 4 wheels back and front, just need a light sanding with very fine sand paper and spray 4-5 coates.

it does handle better with the king springs then the stock ones i think or maybe im just use to them more now. and yer blue would be the best colour in the vz clubsport range although i would prefer yellow over blue.
ahaha to the spray cans. a place in malaga specially does them. i havent really looked into it. my mate got his done 2 years ago gloss black with blue sparkels was 80buks per rim i think and they fix gutter rash aswell. but i havent thort of painting those mags i have currently black but my old vz clubsport mags. i mite look into painting those black aswell. cheers guys

just rang them about an hour ago for a price as im thinking of geting my te's done..

for 18inch rims the lady said roughly 102 + gst per rim!

Same blokes who sprayed my car did my wheels for ~$200, gloss black with gold pearl through it.. That was full prep, spray, clear etc.

yer always wanted a holden more and that was a good deal plus a good car. the guy that owned it was 40. i sold it for 8k. and the brakes at the front are huge. i havent ever seen bigger on a clubsport.

depends what your going to do with it, if no circuit work or serious hills runs then std brakes are probably ok.
the 4 pot HSV/Harrop or AP brakes would suit track work a lot better.

dude, not saying it isnt an R8, but by the looks of the pics its missing a few R8 peices. Leather seats, 4 pot calipers, peformance seats. I could be wrong.

And you could get bigger brakes the AP Racing brakes were 362mm 6 pot fronts and 343mm 4pot rears.

well you never know it might get turbo'd mate and then would the plates be fine? the plates were just an option. havent really thought of changing them into anything yet.

mate its an r8. when owner purchased he didnt want leather seats. he purchased it from holden with all r8 optionals besides the seats. ive seen all the paper work and how much he payed. he said leather gets ruined easier and gets too hot so i dont know. he told me the brakes were on the car when he purchased. and the brakes are fine with my normal driving. no need for bigger ones. not looking at racing or anything at the moment anyway.

what Rhys is saying is the bigger brakes and leather seats are STANDARD on an R8, they are only optional on a standard clubsport.

It may be standard mitchy but doesn't mean you can't ask for it not to be leather, lots of people don't like it...

Are you sure?? When a friend of mine bought MALUI off his mate, the maloo never had leather. Why? Cause from the first owner's experience, factory leather turns to shit and gets so hot and sticky in the summer - the only time the ute ever saw the road.

When he purchased the car new he said he didn't want leather, and low and behold the ute was delivered without it. So you can definitely get high model HSV's without leather, one way or another. I'm not sure if it's standard or not on the R8 but because this car doesn't have it doesn't mean it's not an R8 straight away.

Original owner of my brother's GTS also requested no leather... you can request whatever you want... for those who have ever bought a new HSV, theres many checkboxes to be ticked and you can always get HBD to do shit aswell... but mitchy knows all. Expert rim changer.

yer well i was told by the owner that when he purchased the car that he asked for no leather seats because they do get too hot and sticky. So that was his request. Ill check what the brakes actually are but my mate had a r8 vz in the blue and its exactly the same as his. and ive seen a few clubsport non r8s in shopping parking lots and they have much smaller brakes then what i have and mine are drilled and slotted and much bigger. Not sure if they are standard r8 or being changed.

They look like PBR brakes, so middle of the run for HSV/Holden. One up from normal painted brakes and one down from Harrop brakes. As others have said i was pretty sure R8's came out with Harrop brakes standard??

yer i dno mate the brakes are more then good for my daily driving. Had close encounters before and car stops instantly. Best brakes ive ever driven with. And yes i wanted 6 litre but spelt differently. I think everyone knows that. They just dont like the idea because it sounds like 6L eatr and my car cant eeat itself. What i mean by it is a 6leatr could also mean that its a 6 litre that eats? So my car is a 6litre thats eats other cars. 6leatr. Thats what i meant by it.
