Ok, taking my car away this long weekend, and i have never put anything in it beside bp ultimate 98 octane, Will it matter if i put premium unleaded 95 octane in it for one time...???

Or who knows if there are many bp's on the way to jurien bay / cervantes?

cheers in advanced.

If the car is tuned, i wouldnt put anything other than what it is tuned for in it. If its on stock ECU then 95 will be fine, but being hot weather its going to be over the weekend, definitely don't beat up on it no matter what fuel you put in.

This will help you out.

Jurien Bay is only about 270kms, taking it easy there and back highway driving should only use one tank? (540kms). Not sure on the Falcons economy but my VZ will do over 600kms highway driving.

Atm i'm just getting under 400 km/100 for suburban driving... i'm heading up there tomorrow night, so i don't have much of a choice but to drive that.

If its stock then you can run on 91 or 95 ron. Probably wont even notice the difference.

Sorry, it was 91. It ran like absolute shit, i had to take it to subaru, $600 later and they didn't have the slightest, Dumb pingpingpingpings thought it was my Brandt. The old man asked which fuel i used, i said the usuall (98). I checked the recipt, and i used 91. Simple mistake of not paying attention!

95/96 Premium was fine! Sorry for the confusion, mate

I get about 400-450kms out of 60-65litres city driving in peak hour every day...

Blaa put either 91 or 95 ron in his standard dak dak on a cruise. Pinged on boost.

Dont most cars ECUs have a limited learning ability so they can increase/decrease timing etc for max efficiency? If this is the case then if you ran 98 all the time and the ECU adjusted timing to suit, then threw in 91 octane, it will probably ping till it adjusts to the new fuel..

I have herd of this aswell. My patrol seems to run E85 ok :)

But with the wrx i was warned upon sale, not to put 91 in. App rule of thumb with all turboed vehicles. Unless its desiel ofcoarse!

if you cant make it to jurien and back on one tank then there is something wrong with the car. did that trip with my cammed 420+rwhp car with 4 of us in the car and the boot full of eskys, food, etc etc.. not a problem.

i filled up at the BP at the end of the fwy off burns beach road and got back to it on one tank...could have got more if we didnt "enjoy" the drive up as much as we did.

can run 91ron fuel if its stock. if you want grab some octane boost pour it when you put 91ron fuel and you should be fine for the trip. its what my tuner told me when i went to coral bay (exhaust, intake, tune an only 6000km old engine) to run some octane boost and he knew me well enough to tell me not to overtake truck in 3rd winding out to limiter  but i managed to get ultimate 98 at canarvon and geraldton so didnt have to use the octane boost

Yeah I get the same in peak hour driving every day, prob a little over 400kms though. You will find if you havent done highway driving in this car before it will use heaps less fuel on cruise.

XR6T will run 100% fine on 91RON even, if you don't smash it around on full boost everywhere

edit: F6 Typhoon, stock tune, same same. Used to run these things on 91RON at the caryard I worked for alllllll the time, these motors are smart enough to pull timing if they ping too badly anyway.

Not like my primitive VN, tuned for 95 and will shit its pants if run on 91... :(

Up the freeway. I average 12.5L/100 on the antilag cruises and get around 550km from the tank. Remember the tanks in the utes are larger. About 75L or so.

Just last weekend i drove to collie on a full tank, spent 2 days destroying 8 tyres, put 20L in and drove home with about 100km left on the clock. The weekend was full on pedal to the metal as well.

I made it to Geraldton on 3/4 tank in my GT. The F6 should definetly make it there and back unless there is something wrong with it.

Its amazing how little they use on the open road. I was averaging 11.4l/100k's and get high 18's driving in the city.

turbo nissans run dirty rich. Tune will get more power and fuel economy.
The big v8's and fords all run 6 spd's with big overdrives.
Std diff geared commodore is barely idling at 100km/hr in 6th, and their economy improves with a tune too.

and to the OP, use normal premium or 91 ron and take it easy on the throttle (especially if hot). Stock ECU will take timing out to stop it from pinging if it needs to.
