yeah, the rims arent good, lol.
power isnt bad, the reason you dont have more is because the turbo is out of puff at that boost level, upgrade to something like a gt2871r or larger and it will come close to 300rwhp

You've done most of if not all the ground work for what an SR20 needs to make some decent power reliably, so bigger hairdryer and boom. Aftermarket dump or standard ?

Yeah ditch the rims, go Jap rims. Do something different though, TE's, Meisters, CR Kai's all been done heeps, so I'm sure there's more designs out there that haven't been used that much.
Otherwise nice car mate.
Nice photo with good old King Nepture in the background!

bigger snail you get used to it and to the screamer and to the tyre frying :D:D:D should really look into 3071r lowmount man :) 2871 is over done 3071 is wicked cause its big and still lowmounted,
should post up some pics of the trial kit! i rather liked it rims suited it a bit more too in my opinion vertex is simple needs simple spoke rims :D 57pro ftw

im quite sure theres a right up on ns about how to do it

i need some pits/track rims, too anal about my xd9's getting damaged, haha regret selling my 17's now. and the pits raped me about wheels
Paul is there a major price difference in the 2871 - the 3071????
with 3071r im sure you will get into the 340hp zone with medium boost levels
not too sure about the 2871
Jiblet
05-03-2010, 01:59 PM
na i'm goin with the 2871r... no point getting the 3071 cos i'm not gonna fully build my engine..
180SXTCY
05-03-2010, 02:08 PM
pretty sure adam, aka crumz made around 350.XXX hp with a 2871r so depending on the specs of it and right mods you should be able to as well, also adams engine was just all bolt on'n no internal work apart from stick afaik.
Jiblet
05-03-2010, 02:57 PM
yeah well that sounds like a pretty good figure and i think crumz has basically the same mods as me (well i have similar to him really cos he was first). Cept he had 555cc injectors.
i'm not goin for the biggest hp cos i'll never get it.. i just want something that will chop alright...

you will make 400hp on a 3071r im running onw on my s13, mine is a high mount with the internal gate welded up, they are an awsome turbo, you will prob need a set of cams to bring it on a little early, but i have a stroker kit in my sr with big cams and it comes on nice and early
vision_s15
05-03-2010, 07:22 PM
paul has cams so should be fine on 3071r lol
crumz made 330 i believe didnt he?
2871r might suit you better anyway if you want more response than top end power!
all upto you man just weigh up pro's and cons! :D

Paul good choice on the new rims mate and you already know my thoughts on the engine bay.
Evolved: pretty sure he wants it to make more power for the boost its running as it seems to be a bit down compared to other setups with the same mods - he's in the process of nutting it out.

sure you havnt bought 2860?? id check id plate an confirm you have the right turbo on her... even @ 19psi you should be ~300 with 2860.. and you have cams so 300 should be it... .. my 2 cents and +10 for the rims bro... one of my personal fabs.. :)
Jiblet
24-02-2011, 04:34 PM
yeah a lot of people have said i may have got the wrong turbo. But i'm not to sure how to tell the difference.
I got it off Clint @ AGP and figured it was the right one.

It's a 2871r, 285hp~300hp is about spot on using that roller, I had 45hp diff from Hyperdrive and another dyno in Perth. Chuck it on a hub on a cool morning and it will make a even faster 330odd. They are tuning tools, mph is a better indicator of power.
Car looks sweet Paul.
caibs
24-02-2011, 08:30 PM
take it down the strip and see what mph you've got. that'll give you a good indication of what hp its making. dont stress about dyno figures too much. like monga said, results will vary from dyno to dyno.

yeah i know its just a tuning tool but when i got it installed i compared my dyno sheet (at Allstar) with Crumz (most will know him if you own a silvia) also at Allstar. His temp was a couple degrees higher (was about 30 something) and he got 30hp more. Mine trailed off on the top end when his kept going. Apart from that the dynos were identical.
i'm going to eventually check the boost before/after the cooler to determine if my pressure drop is extreme. Hopefully it's not.
But yeah, pretty happy with where the car is going.
