GIF avatars

i was just curious as to why general users aren't allowed to have gif's as their avatars? i can understand bandwidth issues back in the day were an issue and gif's were turned off by default. now the pictures aren't anymore bandwidth heavy than a normal jpg, so would the admin team consider allowing gif's.

Regular users can't upload GIF avatars. I can change it, but wont for the time being. Will have to regulate size pretty heavily.
