I'm looking to install a new exhaust system and get rid of the catalytic converter in the process. This would of course be illegal on a road driven vehicle, so the vehicle in question is for off-road use only.

A pretty well known, independent exhaust store today flat-out refused to create an exhaust system that didn't include a cat. I had purposely avoided the franchise-type exhaust stores as I thought I might run into this problem but didn't expect it from an independent workshop. So as such I'm looking for a place that can fabricate a basic stainless mandrel bent exhaust system minus the cat.

If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Also, if anyone knows anywhere that will do a good deal for cash I can definitely rustle up some green stuff rather than using the plastic.

Cheers.

Looked online for a mail order system with de-cat pipe? Mate got one for his Evo, had a fake cat to fool anyone that wanted to take a peek.

^^ That'd be perfect but I doubt I'd find one that would be a direct bolt on. If I've gotta get it cut to size and have flanges welded on then I'm sorta back at square one, as I'd still need an exhaust store that would be willing to do the work for me.

i think you could probably find one that would do an exhaust (with cat) and also make you a decat pipe but not fitted...
More money for them, and meets any legal requirement, but not cheap for you.

Very few shops will do something illegal for a complete stranger, what were you expecting them to say?

Bash it out yourself

tell them its for the track, or take them your cat and ask them to make replicate size and flanges with straight pipe, and assure them its purely for track, they shouldnt have problem with that
