Yes, and use 95LE, not dex 3

Garden hose with a funnel might just fit in the hole. Feed the hose from the engine bay down to your box..

If its anything like the Commos you need to start the car then top it up again while its running. This may or may not be the case with your car....
Cheers guys, getting late now so will leave it for tomorrow. garden hose it is, and also gotta take back this dexron 3 hahaha trans just keeps slipping into neutral then smashing gears hard, hopefully this is all it needs or its off to the burnout pitt

Sounds like more than a fluid issue unless theres farkall fluid in there... even then damage may already have been done...
you dont need to have the car running to do c4's
just 95le until it comes out the hole and use a 5/8 ring spanner not a 16mm like some people at work who have the habit of rounding the plug

High possibility it could just be fluid. My old EL used to have a severe trans leak & i had to top the fluid up every few days once it started to slip out of gears around corners
I had a dipstick & tube at the back of the engine bay though...

My VC used to do that, turned out the bloke that did the exhast had to crack the bottom of the transmission, no idea wtf he was on haha.
Also cant you get a dipstick and put it in? Make life alot easier.

sure it was an EL then? EF series 1s were the last to have the dipsticks.
but yeh, the fluid most likely is brown/black .. so give that a change and see how it goes.

Definitely an EL Fairmont Ghia. Was a '98 model with dardy woodgrain & chromed interior accents!

To fill the gearbox I got a sludge pump from Bunnings. Go in and ask for a pump to remove oil out of a lawnmower, the kit lost me like $8 and it works a treat.

is that the ones you put on a drill, and the drill turns the pump?

The one im talking about is like a big syringe with a hose on the end. Basic but effective for something that gets used a few times a year.

Used a similar setup to fill my T56.
