LOL, fail. they do. if thats the sole reason they declined you, you should call back. i know plenty of under 25s with shannons, quite a few on here too.

What are Shannons like when you make a claim? Have many people been knocked back??
How do they look at mods? New car is pretty heavily modified & i'd like it legitimately insured if possible.
Currently with RAC & am looking at changing over after hearing lots of horror stories.

i've had insurance with shannons from about the age of 22. the first car with them had about 10 mods listed (stroker motor, not silly little shit) and i had 4-5 speeding fines to my name so not exactly an insurers dream.
the car was written off when i went up the back of another car on a greasy road. didn't have a problem at all with the claim, all went through like clock work

Good to hear!
Cheers guys :D
I'm currently hooked up through Shannons. I'm 23, full mod list insured and agreed value which is realistic and not 10k short of what its worth.
Deny'd instantly until I went through the guys on here... Then it was a 5 minute conversation and all done.

Basically exactly the same. Am personally insured, and on the listed drivers for some heavily modded cars. Aged 21 (when first insured) with alot of speeding fines. They insured me no worries, so long as I curbed my speeding fines. I've done this since, and no dramas.
Haven't made a claim as yet though.

We have a project car in the shed - and the car & all parts are covered in a policy that states it is insured as long as it doesn't see the road under its own power. Essentially if it is in the shed, or on a trailer it is covered.
we have that car, our daily driver (aristo) and our home & contents insured through shannons ...

Its called Laid Up Cover. Call and ask about it if your looking for it, you might be surprised by the pricing :)
great for track cars/bikes, drag cars/bikes or even project cars that are off the road and not being driven.

They are great for claims as well. Never had a problem when I claimed through them. Everyone always seems so willing to help, which is actually a shock when you're used to dealing with insurance companies...

Shannons generally needs 4 fully enclosed walls/doors if I'm not mistaken. That's the deal for my rig anyway. Out of sight out of mind theory for high risk cars.

my 2 beemers didn't need to be indoors but the porsche does. if they think the car is at a higher risk of being targeted then you need a garage.

Yah, that's why I said high risk cars, of which I presume a skyline is one. I drive a commodore, nuff said.
recommend shannons to anyone. My claim was resolved very quickly

Shannons are the best as far as I am concerned.
I've (unfortunately) made 3 at fault claims in the last 3 years with them. Been brilliant to deal with every time. I'm just waiting to be rejected come renewal time. :(

hopefully owning a shopping trolley pays dividends, shared capark ftl
Im with shannons, and under 21.
Fully covered on an agreed value, at the moment its on that laid up insurance which covers it for everything while its not finished/running.
Then i just call up and upgrade the policy to full road cover when ready.
One thing i cant seam to find is anything on fire?
Is it covered for fire damage? Should probably call them.

OMG WTF
I would rather put that cash away each year and use it when required.
What car is that for and what mods did you list.
Mine is $1500 per year with JustCars at the moment for $40k value and $15k worth of mods.
