I feel sorry for St. Kilda players and coaching staff - a massive let down and a massive cock-up by the recruiting/selection staff. Not only did they miss the boat with Luke Ball (who was always going to leave), but they have now also wasted pick 16. Virtually gaining nothing from the pre-season draft.

Makes it hard for the future of the club considering all the new concessions when GC and South Syd enter the comp. Not many opportunities left to recruit classy players, especially when you would expect the Saints to be hovering around the top for the next 3 - 4 years.

Hope Lovett gets the book thrown at him. He wasted a lot of opportunities and support from a professional institute. He doesn't deserve anything now!

Doubt it ... as they said in their statement, it was a series of events which led to his sacking - obviously this is the core reason, but they have protected their contractual obligation by saying it was a number of events rather than this isolated incident.

Not sure if he would be picked up by any other clubs even if he was found innocent, given his colourful past.
