I've got a bunky Hyundai Getz front wheel drive,I just slapped new tyres on her the other day and since doing this i have picked up a shutter through the car when under load or when reving over about 4k. I have also recently fitted new drive shafts and unis, so that elliminates the chance of a dodge uni. When i had the old tyres on and new unis it was sweet. The wheel alignment seems to be good, drives straite and brakes straite. Brakes are all good not warped and i checked my ball joints last night and seem to be ok aswell...
Im thinking its the gearbox thats rooted but just wanted a second opinion b4 i fork out. The car has done a decent amount of Ks but the engine is fine and runs a treat, any ideas?

could not of ballanced the wheels properly, might be worth checking they removed your old wheel weights and have not counter ballanced them
but I would check ballance of your front wheels first.

Ive got the same problem with my getz, 2.5 years old with 135,000k's on it :D
Joshg123 reckons the inner cv is stuffed causing the shudder at low rpm, ive also noticed a clunk/movement when shifting at high rpm
I just think the gearbox is getting tired, still under warranty from hyundai ?

The way you have written your first post pretty much answers your own question... It was fine until you put new tyres on it.. ?? Take it back to the tyre shop and tell them to sort it out. Or take it to another and pay them to have a look - wouldnt be more than $40 - $50

im doubtfull its a balance issue because if i slap into nuetral and roll it doesnt shudder, i will check the wheels for weights but if they weren't balanced it would shudder all the time...
Turbo_TX3 when my CVs were fucked it didnt shudder, just made that typical poxy clunk when u turned! Im out of warranty typically

Unbalanced wheels will tend to vibrate at higher speeds, not all the time....
Were they cheap and nasty tyres? Could be out of shape?

they were cheap but not the cheapest tyres, there not ling longs or anything super dodge like that... Im starting to think a sepo tyre now after whats been said. Ill jack it up tonight and put it in gear and see if i can see any out of shape dodginess..
Thanks for every1s opinions

Does it do it if you lock one wheel on the stands?
Also take a look at the inner tripod cv joints when on the stands, run it and see if they have stuck to one side of the cup, you will see the shaft going up and down.
Common problem to have, very hard to pick. I did one the other day on a magna and got it right, dissasembled the old shaft and it looked perfect, however was sticking to one side of the cup causing a god awefull vibration.
First check for out of round tyres, then do the above.
Wont be a box

swap tyres front to back and test drive, common for cheaper tyres to be out of round

it was always going to be tyres... it was fine... you changed something.. then it wasnt.. its obviously going to be whatever you changed.. good to hear its sorted.. I had a shudder for 3 months we couldnt find the issue with... did all 4 though... in the end after 3 months ( i didnt try that hard during this time ) I borrowed 2 spare rims and tyres and it stopped... ?? i ended up just buying a cheaper set of second hand wheels - to this day I never followed up to check the issue..
stupid fucking things..
