Just lookin for a quick answer rather than trawling google.
As the offset number gets smaller does that mean the wheel moves out or in?
EG: Stock offset is +40 if wheels that were +38 fitted does that mean the wheel sits further outwards?
cheers mike

a smaller positive number means the wheel move further out.
the +number is the distance from the centre line of the rim, to the mounting face, so +0 is mounting face smack bang in the middle, +40 is the face 40mm to the outside of the rim.

top work, cheers
dont forget about widths, what you said in the first post is right if the widths are the same, if they're different then you get a different answer again

yeh i figured that bit, is my thinkin right
factory wheel is 15x6 +40 say i put n a 17x8 +35 in theory the outer edge of the wheel would sit 1in (due to width) and 5mm (due to offset) closer to the outside of the car?
