Kambalda police have made what is thought to be one of the biggest ever seizures of cannabis in the Goldfields.

Officers allegedly found about six kilograms of the drugs in a house in Kambalda West yesterday.

They also seized 11 plants growing in the backyard, seven of which are alleged to have been more than 1.8 metres tall.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences, including possession of cannabis with intent to sell or supply.

He will face court in Kalgoorlie next week.

Sergeant Murray Guerin says it is a significant seizure for the area.

"It's a huge, huge arrest for Kambalda, it's blown us out of the water a bit, the sheer quantity of this."

"For the Goldfields it's probably one of the bigger seizures of cannabis for a very long time."

whats the point, you cant see who is driving for starters, there is no proof to say that car has not been taken in for a service at a dealership and someone is going for a test drive
