fuk yea this should of been done years ago bloody uneducated people saying "games make people murderers" and shit is ridiculous. when i play any kind of violent game it makes me more mellow, it helps get out built up anger in a safe controlled way. its only PSYCHO people with mental illnesses to start with that go on shooting rampages you cant blame games / music / movies because they have something wrong in there head

One big problem is that parents don't take video game classification ratings seriously. If the R18+ comes to fruition, there needs to be some sort of advertising campaign on TV, radio and etc, to promote it.
i do agree with that but not only parents but retailers as well. i remember buying carmagedon when i was like 11 it was MA 15+ but actually got pulled off for about a month while developers where forced to reduce the carnage to be able to sell it in australia again

TRUE THAT!
The amount of times i have seen parents buying games such as COD, GTA, Saints Row etc for heir kids who dont look a day above 12yrs old is shocking.
Parents have no interest or dont take care when purchasing any type of game for their kids. Parents actually need to read, or do some research on a game prior to buying...rather than just purchasing then overhearing / overseeing the gore etc then complaining about it.
If any of you have played Saints Row 1 or 2, you will definately know why it shouldnt be sold to kids under 18yrs old :werd:

Because they are really shit games? Anyway i agree with you there. My little brother is always asking me if he can play my games (like COD etc) because all his school mates play it and talk about it. I tell him to piss off cos im playing, but at his age (8) i really dont think its appropriate.
Id love to see parents actually taking some form of responsibility for their kids, but it seems to be lacking more often than not

Postal series, Manhunt series, etc even GTA had to be downgraded among other games that have either been refused classification due to not having R18+ or that have had to be "downgraded" to make them MA15+
if they brought in R18+ classification + fines similar to that of selling alcohol / smokes to minors and enforced a more strict id check for people buying games would stop a lot of younger people buying games with out there parents knowledge
postal / manhunt where shit games made me yawn yea wooo kill a dude and then do gross shit awesome. they where shock factor games gameplay sucked
