Guys been having dramas with my 4by for a while now i thought it was the clutch making noises but turns out its not ...

when i get off the gas it clunks hard ... but if i ease off the gas its fine ... got underneath and wiggled the shaft ( heheeh ) like Beau suggested and located the clunk at the rear of the tailshaft where it joins the rear diff circled in red

Uni joint, usually held in with a circlip, cant see one in the pic, but it is filthy, they clunk when fucked.

They usually have a circlip on the inside or out depending, not much of a fuck around once shaft is out, just a matter of working out how it comes apart, have a look at the replacement one you buy, usually can work it out from that.

Dont get millhouse to help, you'll end up with motor and box out :)

All body lift?

Reason i ask is that lift doesnt do any good for those uni's, i had a LN105 the other day that had a 3" body and a 2"suspension lift and his unis were buckeling due to the angle of his propshaft onto the rear diff

You will need to make some spacers for your centre bearing if this is the case.

Also take note of your tailshaft phasing if your pulling the whole propshaft out. Knowing you you will pull the yoke out of the slip joint! haha

EDIT - Didnt even look at the picture haha, that looks allright. Hows the one straight after the centre bearing?
