Exactly and seen many of these around but never ever seen an un-marked 4WD and pulling over someone. TRG is a different department and not tasked with handing out speeding tickets.

used to live in Maylands near a big police station, and saw them drive past my place every day in territory's and new patrols with with roof racks and spare tires on roof.

What TJ said.

In most cases, they would not give a fuck about minor traffic offences anyway.

All Police officers hand out speeding tickets, including TRG. Being brown in colour I would suggest it was TIG, not TRG.

Many sections use unmarked Nissan Patrols. Tactical Response, Tactical Investigation, Traffic Enforcement, Forensics/Homicide etc.

The marked Traffic Escort vehicles are NOT piloted by Police officers. They are civilians and have no powers under the Police act other than to assist with large vehicle/truck escorts.

Don't take your chances though, my cop neighbour used to bring all kinds of vehicles home including the "Traffic Escort" 4wds. So you never really know who is likely to be driving it at the time.

Police officers used to pilot them. Policy changed a while ago - having sworn officers with powers of arrest following a truck around the state is a waste of resources. There isn't a single Police officer driving for the Traffic Escort unit anymore - that's a guarantee - but the officer in charge of the traffic escort unit is sworn.

When policy changed, the WA Police seal was removed from all escort vehicles:

if anyone knows its fourseven!

I think that the traffic group also use marked patrols too (for towing the trailers etc).

As for the unmarked ones, have seen a TRG unmarked pull over someone before, they're still cops!

I do not look forward to being done by speed cameras mounted inside vehicles. Just saw my first rear facing camera today on Roe Hwy heading south, sitting in the bushy middle divide. Must have been on the cusp of a flash (digital speedo 102), not sure you'd see it from the blind spot angle they get you from? :/

Well I've learned something new then :) Yep this was a few years ago, and from memory the vehicles had the police seal on them too.

They have all kinds of cars, but marked are much easier to see these days.

the old armed rob squad use to get around in older bombs, Near a year ago an ex called me trippin on ice saying she keept seeing the same cars driving past her home.

I went over and there she was sitting on the roof of her house over looking canning hwy taking licence plates numbers of cars se saw more than once.. i couldnt get her down and didnt want to hang around.

i left thinking what a cracker she had become in a couple of short months, drove off and 1 street down the road i got pulled over by an old early 90s pale blue camry wagon with five coppers in there jump suits and a cop cars parked up on side streets....
She was right under cover cops sitting on her dads house. They had been in thailand and the home was robbed so i thought it was all harmless and them doing there job.

Long story but it seems she started dating some romanian wanted for all sorts including atm fraud for days they had been waiting for him to visit... In the end ,onths later they got him and his huge home in applecross there goes your private jetty to the river and the good life..

crack smack and rock might pay the bills for a while but is it worth it if you have nothing but a fucked body when your 40?
