Wireless network help

Ok staying at a mates and am using his wireless network, have entered the securtiy key and it connects with good strength and such, after about 5 mins I cant get internet, its still connected, just says server cant be reached or whatever.

Any ideas, works fine for his Macbook and his missus laptop, just only lasts 5 mins with my netbook.

do you have access to his router? it may have been setup to timeout wireless users that have not been manually input.

if you can connect to the router via a cable, see if still does the same thing.

Sounds like it has mac address security enabled. Depending on brand you might be able to connect to the router. But due to the mac contr not able to get an ip address. Or there dhcp server is only configured for a few ip addresses and yours is one to many.

if it was any form of mac filtering he wouldnt be able to connect at all.
