Seen this before, Still great to watch again :)

Predictions are that by 2049, a $1000 computer will exceed the computation capabilities of the entire human species
Mind blowing to think about

Possibly was the case when this came out in ~2008, and would of been based on data/research from 2007?

Great vids people.
I love this kinda stuff.

Really makes you appreciate what earth is and what it looks like when you look at the other worlds / suns etc.
How 1 world can look so nice and sustain life....yet everything else looks fail.

/sookylala stuff

i am a abit skeptical on the last fgew sun - planet - gas ball things.. if they are so big why cant we see them? I mean i know they are further away but its just getting harder to believe.. it takes years and years for them to get to mars and back.. how are they measuring these fucking things million of light years (supposedly) away??

Just a thought - not trying to stir shit.. Have never really researched so if someone could shed some light
? or proof!

You can see them - they're just *really* far away.
Radii of distant celestial bodies can be calculated a couple of different ways. Indirect method is first determining their distance from Earth (baseline + parallax effect) and brightness, which will give you it's luminosity. Once you have that you can work out it's size according to the temperature and it's given luminosity.
Direct methods refer to a more technical method involving usually multiple telescopes utilising interferometry.

Makes you wonder...Earth is one planet in one galaxy with life and civilisation. Out of all the galaxies...surely there's bound to be another planet just like/similar to Earth? If so, perhaps they are questioning the same thing which we have questioned for years. Really interesting to think about but becomes a headfuck when you start thinking about all the possibilities.

I always like to think about if the Earth was the size of Jupiter or Saturn, even the Sun, then try and imagine that, even at our current technological level, we would still be charting parts of the planet we hadn't explored yet.

When you stop and think about it you have to marvel at what we've managed to do, then you think about how big Earth is and realise how incredibly insignificant we are.

Then realise how we are also really good at wrecking everything and are on a set path for destruction.

People should appreciate more.
