Hey guys thought id jump in here first and introduce myself and my car. My names dan and ive got a 97 manual legnum with huge factory sunroof (bit of a difficult combo to find). It came into aus with lowered springs and adjustable shocks, but the front needs to sit a little lower imo

So far ive done:
hks panel filter
high flow cat
cat back
ngk iridium plugs and ice leads
evo 8mr bov
evo 8 rims
haltech interceptor installed but i have a dying ecu so that needs to be sorted before a re-tune.
clutch is also gone so a hd is on the cards as soon as cash permits

ahh thats all i can remember for now. im an eng student paying my way through at uwa so unfortunately im broke and i may not be able to get many more mods in. if a bit of cash came through id probably do hard piping, cooler, dumps and front pipes and then leave it at that, keeping injectors and fuel pump etc stock.

anyway here are a few pics, dont really have many with new rims so i just snapped a few on my mobile

haha yeh i have a farm out in toodyay so we have some fun there and on the way out.

it was installed at rpw. the fuel controller is dying in my ecu (was diagnosed when the interceptor was installed). it was pumping black smoke and 21% of fuel was cut out at some points. i was told itd keep dying and theres already a noticeable drop in power and some black smoke starting to come back so once i have a new clutch all bedded a plan on taking it to allstar for another tune

ECUs tend to work, or not at all. Not really like a half way point that exists.

Regardless, nice car.

Well it was installed by a workshop that tends to only do half a job.
Starting to see alot of nice Legnums popping up around the place, I really enjoy the look of them and considering I can't get a evo wagon, I'd consider one of these.

yeh ive heard that a bit. but i was happy with it and so far its happened as he said it would. but yeh as i said, im hearing good things about all star and theyve been getting a few more legnums through now so its good that more places are popping up that are familiar with them

RPW is good for legnum down pipes. but thats all i know about them

i wouldnt be touching RPW/haltech with a 50 foot pole.

last i knew, their "plug and play" loom for the legnum/galants didnt have a functioning tacho, and it wasn't able to control the alternator regulator.
(so contantly charges at 14V, which equals burnt out alternator, which is a pingpingpingping of a thing to replace)

i've had a few conversations with dave from RPW whilst i had my legnum, and its safe to say i've had more intelligent conversations with a passed out drunk.

take it to allstar, they've had some experience with them..
clutch install is basically the same as an evo, so they can help you out. (unless you wish to do it yourself, pretty big job though)

yeh too big a job for me, dont have the right tools. millzy had his clutch done at allstar so thats where mine will be heading too

havent had any problems with the haltech. the general consensus with people who have them in their legnums is that the interceptors/miniceptors do their job pretty well but the stand-alones are a heap and have too many problems

ah, i wasnt sure which was the piggy back, and which was the stand alone.... personally i wouldn't touch either, but thats just me.

i had an SAFC II in my leggy, worked well and it fit PERFECTLY inside the clock pod on the dash.

there are no special tools required for clutch change, it's just a time consuming job.

i removed/refitted a leggy auto box 3 times, and removed an auto and fitted a manual the 4th time, and had it down to about ~12 hours? lol

oh really? id give it a crack but wouldnt trust myself. knowing the cost of screwing it up as well. manual box was with rhys' car yeah? i met him sorting out his alternator when i bought my car. oh well if you find it not too difficult a job and wanna earn some cash doing it im all for it haha. just dont drag my box behind a ute down the road....;)

yup, converted Rhys' to manual... i'm sure i could convince him to do another box, we are experts at it now. :P

as for dragging the box down the road, i have NO idea what you're on about.
