Anybody got access to cat traps or plans to make some?
I contacted the local council & put my name on the list, but there's an 8 week wait due to demand!
Last few weeks i have had a piece of shit neighbours cat destroy the side of my daily by scratching it's paws up & down the paintwork. Want to catch it in the act (so to speak) and force the owners to pay as i only have 3rd party cover on it, not full comp :(
Cheers.

option a: setup a camera
option b: watch Bear Grillz (man vs wild) he makes some really easy basic traps that anyone could do to catch an animal.

Cheers, will have a watch over the weekend.
Would prefer to use a trap over camera as they're easier to setup & no fucking about with tapes etc.
Anybody else?

our cat does it to my stato ( not really too worried needs repainting anyway but afterwards im going to do this ), missus loves to ignore my complaining until i mention ending it life in very painfull ways like drop kicking it. i have been told There is a spray that you can buy from pet shops that the ferimones it emit's the cats absolutely hate and dont go anywhere near it, what if you got a car cover or a piece of rope and soaked in said formula and put it around / on your car, that way they will go no where near it.
I'll try and get you brand/price ect ect.

Cheers mate, but too much hassle.
Would rather catch it & have the owner's held responsible. Maybe then they'll be more careful with letting it roam the streets whenever it feels like.

I'm almost 100% sure we have one, but may have been borrowed. I'll check at home tonight. Welcome to borrow it if we still have it.
Though beware around small/dumb dogs, their none the wiser.

Have you tried talking to the owners yet? Never know sometimes it might help a bit. If they don't...cat trap and hold it for ransom!

Problem is i don't know who the owner is yet.
Am hoping for it to have a tag, if not i'll give it to my dogs for breakfast :D
Cheers yeahlow34!

If you want just a hack method of deterring it, spray vinegar around the car (not on it obviously, but around the car port or whatever - not guaranteed to work but might see some results.

Want to find the owner's...

Very bad!
Down to metal in some spots & it's down the entire driver's side (front to back) and half the passenger's side. Roof also has scratches & dents from cats walking over it.

i think this must be a tiger, if it can dent and shred paint down to the metal... be very careful trapping the beast... i fear for your dogs.

A quick google lists some common cat repellents:
- mothballs
- orange/lemon peels
- cayenne pepper
- coffee grounds
- pipe tobacco
- lavender oil
- lemon grass oil
- citronella oil
- eucalyptus oil
- mustard oil
Might be worth a shot, your yard might smell a bit spicy/funky but it might keep the fuckers away from your car?
If you have a problem with someones pet, go to the owner... leave the animal out of it.
I very much doubt catching the animal would help you.
P.S. spray citronella around the car, CATS HATE CITRUS more than anything.
Lemon/Orange peels and coffee do not work, I've tried this to keep our cats out of a pot plant and it failed.
Animal repellents you buy from Bunnings are useless also.

Hahaha.

Serious? The cat claws at the side of your cars paintwork?
Strange.
Cats generally only claw stuff they can grip into, ie the couch, a tree.

LION DUNG.
1) Go to the zoo and acquire some lion shit.
2) Smear all over car.
3) Enjoy new cat-resistant paintwork
4) ???
5) Profit
Do not catch the cat. Just deter it.
Piss around your car, like Bear Grylls did when he pissed around a camel carcass to keep the predators away.
The cats will hate it and not go near your "territory".

Put your car inside a big trap that the cat can't get in?? :)
+24792 for dents etc on roof from cat? If you came to me and said that my cat (don't have one) made dents on your roof and scratched it down to metal I think I'd raff out roud.
I've seen footies, rugby balls etc kicked way in the air and land on car roofs without denting, must be one serious cat.

That's what I was thinking too. Doubt a cat can scratch the paint back to bare metal. My cats are tough, but not tough enough to expose bare metal when they attempt to climb up the ute, slip, and scratch the paint.

cat traps are actually pretty humane aslong as the cat is dealt with properly when caught... speak to the owner? lol how many cats ever have tags these days.
Very humane, and they don't feel a thing when we kill them to use them as crab bait.. cos thats what we do in Collie

You think a cat probably weighing a few kilograms will dent a car roof just by walking over it??

The most effective method of catching a pussy.
Note: The bigger the diamond, the more effective the trap.

I'm loving the lolcats in this thread.
I used to find mucky pawprints on my newly sprayed car. I thought maybe if the car was slippery the cat would be annoyed and not walk on it, so i polished the car up to a mirror finish that day. The next morning I went out to check on the car and the mess was much worse than pawprints, you could see where the cat had repeatedly tried to jump onto the car, slip, claw madly and then fall off again. Really determined animal it musta been.
Anyways, in spite of all this it didn't manage to do any more damage than messing up my polishing though , no actual scratches through the paint.
I see where youre coming from though its frickin annoying. The muddy pawprints in the windscreen are the worst cuz you have to stare at them while youre driving to work lol
this an old harrington richardson?
miss my old full choke 30 inch best feral kitty medicine around lol that and the thrasher bentley pump we had ahaha
