Wow that widebody is awesome, looks immaculate too.
Yeah the widey is in pretty good nick. There are few things that need to be done. The interior needs some work, and there's a bit of paint touching up to be done on the outside of the car. An engine oil leak needs to be fixed too, but it's not looking like a big job...hopefully. Plus a few other little things here and there.
The widebody is certainly pretty rare, but the rarest of those 2 cars is actually the GSR-V. There are only 5 of those in Oz.
There are 10 widebodies in Oz.

Neither of them are exactly common then lol, excuse my ignorance but what motor do they run. Ive always been a fan of the starion but never really knew much about it.

Always like the starions... never seen a widebody... nice collection mate!
Thanks for the comments guys.
To answer some questions regarding what motors that are in Starions;
They came out with 3 main configurations, with a few revisions thrown in as well.
The Australian spec JA-JD (1982-1987) had a SOHC, 8 valve, 2 litre, 4G63 turbo motor, with leaded fuel motors producing 125kw, and unleaded variants producing 110kw.
There are a lot of different versions around the world, but most Starions after 1986 were widebodies with the 2.6 litre, 8 valve, 4G54 turbo motor, except here. We never got the widebodies as an Australian delivered new car.
The GSR-V Starion, (the white one pictured above), was the best stock Starion made. It still had the 4G63, 2 litre motor, but had a 12 valve head, and produced 149 kw.
The widebody pictured above runs a SR20DET simply because of the availability of parts, and the good potential for power. That car has a lot of power!

They are a couple of nice examples, brings back memories as I used to own a jap Sapporro with the 12 valve dash engine. I wanted to upgrade it with an early evo 4g63 16 valve engine as mine was an auto with the same narrow bellhousing bolt pattern but could never find one cheap enough. I actually bought a 4g61t (1600cc turbo evo style engine) for the job but I ended up fitting that into the L300.

They're Rota RKR's. Yes. I know. Rotas. But I had a hell of a job trying to find wheels with the right offset and staggered widths.
I think you'll agree though, the car looks HEAPS better with these on...

Super cool.
I never liked the old 18's, and I had to use spacers to get them to fit.
They are for sale here (http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/bedford/wheels-tyres-rims/18-staggered-starcorp-racing-wheels-for-sale/1005698499)

such an interesting car! love how its widebody, and a nice neat engine bay!
such an interesting car! love how its widebody, and a nice neat engine bay!
Thanks man!
The engine bay isn't as neat as I'd like it to be, but short of removing things, it can't get any neater... :)
Yeah it's a widebody from the factory. All Starions from 1987 onwards looked like this except for the Aussie ones. We never got this shape here as a new car.
It always gets photos taken of it whenever I take it to meet or cruise.
I might sell it soon though. It doesn't get driven often enough for my liking, so I've spent much more time looking at it than driving it lately.
The Starion is now for sale...

Sell something else, you'll never be able to replace this
Maybe it's time for an update..?
Well, if anyone's interested...
I still have this after 4.5 years, and the love is still strong.

This has been a great bunky and tow vehicle over the last 3.5 years. Soon to be for sale though.

This was bought a project earlier this year, but I lost the love and sold it to luckily get all of my money spent on it back.

This is for the Missus. Eventually.

This is bit of project. It's one owner and in decent condition overall. Coming soon to a road near you. :)

And that's pretty much it for now I guess. Any really important updates will probably be seen in here if I remember. :)
