Hey guys NWR31 said to chuck a few pics of my evo up in another thread so here they are

So far its totally stock and will be staying that way for a little while until i get it out to the track to learn the cars aswell as my own limits then I will be looking at a few mods to let it breathe, a decent tune and swaybars + braces and coilovers to stiffen it up

plan on trying to get involved with a few track days a year but nothing too serious for now

nice, never seen one in that colour.
First model to get the brembo's too, nice.

good idea to learn at the track before winding up the power, as there is a lot to be gained!

Needs to be lowered, needs wheels that fill the guards better and I recon black rims would look the ducks nuts on this car.

Apart from my nit picking, its a very tidy example, especially given the E5s are getting on these days :)

lol black rims look bombed on alot of our cars... bit of a generic suggestion..
evo 5 is the first model with the yaw control diff thats the most its got going for it besides having a wing that wouldnt look out of place on the millenium falcon haha.

I do love them though dont get me wrong. i owned a galant vr4,,, so much FUN!!! except inherited mass unreliability! lol.

evo 4 was first for ayc actually i think you will find smoked.
evo 5 is the best looking out of the pre 7 evos imo.
the evo 5 wing shits all over the 6/tomi makkinen one too.

the best early evo & the best exterior colour, even the interior colours shit all over the 6/TME they are blue & pink (faded red)
awesome car, just needs some dark grey te37's ;)

I'd say handling mods would be a very wise decision mate. All the best, these AWD cars are a bunch of fun around the track.

i wasnt sure on the wing at first, i was considering removing it but its grown on me
and you should see the wing when its at maximum attack haha

I prefer them winged TBH.

It looks naked without it.

Otherwise a good aftermarket one can look nice.

no offence mate but im not really into all that, i bloody hate cars that arent practical on the street because they are so low

at the end of the day if i wanted a car that would get peoples attention i wouldnt have bought a lancer... there are so many kitted es lancers about that most people have no idea what they are looking at - which is a good thing imo

agreed, it gets old real quick if you do quite a few kays, especially in these cars.

hows the handbrake? looks like the cables could use a retension

it had only been complianced a few months before i got it

handbrake job took me 10mins on mine.

remove rear half of centre console/trim and use a spanner to VERY gradually put a LITTLE more tension inthe cables.
too much & your rear handbrake will drag.

Fair call, but you can lower a car and it will aid handling (lower center of gravity), without going to the extent of dropping it to the ground as some do, there is a middle ground to be found.

Same again with wheels, better offset will give you more track and once again aide handling, as well as the aesthetic benefits.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the car, what ever you choose to do :)

agreed, this is the best ride height i achieved for looks/comfort.
the ride was pretty shit tho (coils/damping werent too firm either).
even with this the rake is a little on the extreme side but much better than stock which is the opposite (sag in the rear)

these cars have a pretty short wheelbase & not alot of suspension travel (especially on the rear) which makes the issue of a reasonable ride Vs looks quite hard to achieve - for me anyway.
both of those issues were improved on the E7 tho

btw a set of BBS rims would look shit hot on this V imo
